I hope I'm asking this in the right place.

I just met my next door neighbor and found out she is going through chemo. She told me that she had leukemia 3 years ago, but she was able to fight it, and now goes for chemo treatments on a certain interval to keep it from coming back. My neighbors are elderly; I would guess in their 70s. I feel so bad because we have lived here for almost 7 years and this is first time we've ever spoken! My husband has talked to Mr. Neighbor a few times, but we never really introduced ourselves. I also found out that he had a heart attack several months ago.

I'd really like to stop over again and bring something and give them our phone numbers in case they need anything. Now that I know their health situation, I don't really know what would be appropriate. I was thinking muffins or something like that, maybe banana muffins? Is there anything I should avoid for someone going through chemo? Is a food gift not a good idea at all?
