3 mo old wakes every 90 minutes

I don't understand. She used to sleep longer at night. Sometimes for a three hour stretch. We swaddle her. She sleeps in a cosleeper next to our bed. No pacifier, but I'm considering one bc she has a bit if reflux. Sometimes she wakes for hunger, which I expect. Sometimes it seems like gas or reflux. She be raising her legs up with gas or coughing a bit with reflux-- usually an hour after she falls asleep.

It's probably just a phase. I'm not sure I want to do anything except wait it out. This is my first BF baby and I guess in just wondering if this waking us normal.

Oh and I can't side lie nurse bc of her reflux-- she can't lie flat while nursing or after for at least ten minutes greensad.gif

Perhaps it's a growth spurt?

My daughter lays on her side to nurse at night. Would that work for her?

Have you heard of the book "The 90-minute baby sleep program"? It talks about their sleep cycles and how they go through an entire cycle in 90 minutes. Therefore, they sleep, and stay awake, in 90 min increments. So they either sleep 90 min, 3 hrs, 4.5 hrs, etc. She claims this also applies to their wakeful periods. The book has logs and sleep plans as well. I never followed through with completing the logs, but ever since I read it I have noticed the 90 min segments in my DS's sleep and wakefulness. There are, of course, times where he wakes or sleeps not on that "90 min time line" but it might be something to look into in order to understand and extend your DD's sleep. Good luck!
