Beautiful U/S picture yellowdart!

Our last U/S was also around 20 weeks and thats te only one we have a picture from. I keep looking at the picture now and wondering how much bigger he must be. Scary to think DH and I could be meeting our little one as soon as 7 weeks from now!

LivingSky - Only 7 weeks left for you???? OMG, it seems like we were just celebrating your BFP a month ago.  So exciting!!!  I'm sure you can't wait to meet your little one.

Nicolian - Yay for all the movement!  I just saw my belly move yesterday for the first time.  My friend kept asking me if I had seen it, but I had never really sat and watched my belly.  Yesterday, my little boy decided to have soccer practice in my belly while I was watching TV, so I immediately stopped watching TV and watched my belly instead - I must say, my belly was much more exciting and entertaining!

TTMN - FANTASTIC pictures!  Congrats on your little boy!  :)

TTMN: Great pictures!!

ValH: I admit that I've found belly watching to be about the most engrossing pastime ever pretty much since the babe started moving a lot. The most fun is when I'm reading MDC posts with my little netbook balanced on my belly and suddenly the netbook JUMPS as baby kicks it. orngbiggrin.gif

7 weeks left until 38 weeks - I know I'm being overly optimistic that I'll go early but it's how I keep my hopes up! I'm planning to use EPO and RRL tea and do tons of walking and DTD with DH like crazy in hopes of going in to labour as soon after 38 weeks as possible smile.gif The summer heat is already making me pretty miserable and by the end of July I think it'll be pretty awful! But we'll see how it goes, I'll probably end up being one who goes at 41+6 just because I want to be early smile.gif

I've been completely MIA from this thread for a while, but popped in cuz I just saw that MommyM is here now and I wanted to offer my big CONGRATS!!

I'm 19 weeks now...just had a debate yesterday with one of my midwives about when I conceived...I'm not totally convinced she's right, although she did have another midwife, who looked at my pregnancy chart, agree with her.  So, they've decided my EDD is Oct. 21 instead of Oct. 23.  Not sure it really makes a difference, but whatever.  Also, they suggested that if I want a smaller baby this time around (DS was 9 lbs 7 oz), I should try to eat a low glycemic diet.  Well, after looking over a bunch of the foods that are high glycemic, I really don't know how much I can eliminate/replace.  Summertime without watermelon?  Limited peanut butter, white and even whole wheat breads.  Staying away from meats other than poultry and fish.  Maybe I'll just cope with another big baby.

Will be scheduling an ultrasound in a week or so...lots of baby girls popping up on here, huh?  I'm anticipating a boy...95% sure.

What's wrong with a big baby?!

It's really just about labor.  With DS, the first part of my labor - first noticable contraction until fully dilated - was pretty quick...about 6 hours.  The "pushing part," however, took 4 hours...presumably cuz he was a big guy with a big (perfectly round) head and I was/am of a smaller-side-of-average frame.  I also ended up with some pelvic issues (literally could not walk for two weeks...like, couldn't move my legs to walk) the first two weeks PP which thankfully were corrected by a PT who specializes in pelvic issues...and it's possible that could have happened regardless of DS's size, but it's something I wonder about.

tiphat.gif Hi, not_telling!  And THANKS!

I don't know much about a low-glycemic diet, although I do have a friend who is diabetic and she says that toasting bread actually lowers the glycemic index.  I hope that can help a little!

Wow, I've missed a lot. LOL

Congrats, TTMN! I can't believe how early you found out! I'm 16w1d and I'm DYING because the doctor said I'll have to wait until my 21-week appt. to find out. Hmph, we'll see about that. My next appt. is Fri. I'm going to schedule my sexing ultrasound for then!!! =D

Here I am at 16w, laying down. I think it's amazing how well you can see my uterus when I lay down...

I still lay flat on my stomach every night trying to feel ANYTHING, and still... Nothing. Boo. It'll happen!

Neat pic, TTCoC! The private ultrasound I had was only $60 and we totally thought it was worth it. Something to consider!

I'm jealous of those of you who get to "belly watch." I can't wait for that!

not_telling, dd2 was 9 lbs, 7 oz also. This is just my experience, but might be useful: dd1 was 8 lbs, 5 oz and I pushed for 2.5 hours. With big ol' dd2, I only pushed for 15 mins. I had no pain afterwards with either girl. I also have a small frame. Both times when I got pg with the girls I was just over 100 lbs. *However*, that is purely anecdotal and I know nothing involving facts or data! I am a little scared of having this baby get bigger by another pound. Hmm... I guess we are in the same boat then, really. Neither of us wanting a 10.5 lb baby! I'll have to look into the glycemic diet thing. :)

Thanks for the congrats, guys.

MommyM - Funny about toasting bread.  Apparently al dente pasta is lower on the GI than softer-cooked pasta.  Kooky...

TTMN - I really appreciate your story, anecdotal though it might be orngbiggrin.gif.  I'd like to think that after having DS, baby #2 really will come out like "grease lightning" (as one of my midwives put it) regardless of weight.  And with an almost 3 year old running around, and trying to prep the house for another child (i.e. transforming what has been "the cat room" for the last 8 years into a baby/child room...which is overwhelming and kinda gross at times, although we are slowly making progress), the last thing I want to spend lots of time thinking about is what I put in my mouth.  Isn't it enough that I'm asking myself if I've eaten enough protein/dairy/iron-rich/fruit n' veg foods??  I'm thinking yes.

And on that note, I'm going to take advantage of DS's nap and go eat some cheese and finish watching "How to Train Your Dragon."

Ooo, I'll do it!  I'll be gone for a week in the middle, but that probably shouldn't matter, right?
