i have noticed for awhile now that my DSD's feet turn inward. i think i really noticed more than a year ago. she complains of knee pain sometimes and says she falls down easily. it kinda makes her walk funny too. everyting i am reading say that she should have grown out of it by now. should i be worried? or is it a phase bc part of her is growing faster than another part?

pigeon toed 7 year old.
I am pigeon toed. As a small toddler/child I had braces I wore at night that were supposed to turn my feet out. I also had to wear "special" shoes (Oh God how I HATED those shoes). Nothing worked and I am a pigeon toed adult.

My Dad always told met he fastest athletes were pigeon toed and there may be some anecdotal evidence to support that.

In your shoes, since your daughter is complaining of pain and tripping I would consider a consult with either a sports doctor or ortho. However, at your daughter's age my knees also hurt and I don't know if it was growing pains or related to my gait but I outgrew the pain.
Â
I am fine as an adult and walking this way has not impacted my life in any way (other then I can rotate my feet all the way inwards-the opposite of what ballerina's can do).
