Few months ago we decided to switch to Traditional diet, cut processed foods, limit cards etc. Since then I gained 4 pounds, DH about 8!!! I though most people lose weight? What are we doing wrong?
There can be an initial time period, where your body is tanking up on the nutrients that it was deficient in.
And to be perfectly honest, 4 and 8 pounds is not a huge amount
That said, one thing you might need to look at, is the amount of carbohydrates versus fats you are taking in.
You may want to cut back on the carbs a tiny amount, to balance things out a bit.
Also watch how much sugar you are taking in. Honey, maple syrup, or what have you-it should still be in moderation. I agree with the too many carbs thing also.
The Okinawans have a philosophy: Hara Hachi Bu - Eat until you are 80% full. If other things are not working, think about stopping when you are satisfied but not full.
Yes, we're trying to reduce carbs and eat very little sugar. I would say typically a tb of maple syrup a day (I add it to our kefir smoothies) and maybe a dessert on a weekend. I also did cut all grains and sugar for two weeks to see if that would make a difference, but no, my weight stayed the same. Maybe it's too short of a time to tell. Hmm.

Exercise is my weak point I believe. I go to gym twice a week and run after a toddler a lot, but maybe that's not enough.
Maybe consider going for a walk after meals or at least take an after dinner family stroll. See what errands you can run on foot, bike, or public transit. Take the stairs.
