CHICAGO or nearby burbs (Oak Park) : Looking for delayed vaccine pediatrition or family doctor asap

Hello!

I'm due in June and am beginning a search for a pediatrition or family doctor who is friendly towards a natural approach to health and who is on board with a delayed vaccine schedule.  Thanks for your help!

I love Dr. Minkus...he is very crunch-friendly!  He's not too close to Oak Park, but it may be worth it to make the trip out to Lincolnwood or Skokie just to have a supportive doc.  Good luck!

I live in the West Loop and we had the same struggle- all the "recommended" doctors are on the north side! Ugh. We got lucky- we gave birth at West Suburban and the pediatrician on call was AMAZING. So we stuck with her! Dr. Mary Hutton is a family practice MD whose office is at Lake and Harlem. She's part of the Elmhurst Clinic. She's doing delayed vax for us and said her big concern with it is that many parents get lax and end up missing shots. When my LO lost a full lb in the first week she didn't freak at all and NEVER said anything about supplementing or formula, which I really appreciate. It's fairly easy to get appointments, they reserve schedule time for same-day, the office is super clean and new, parking is easy in the garage behind there (the Trader Joe's garage). I recommend checking out Dr. Susan Locke and Dr. Robin Uchitelle.

Dr Uchitelle was the pediatrician on call when my dd was born at West Suburban.  At the time, we lived on the NE side of Chicago and planned on finding someone in the city but ended up staying with them for 4 yrs. We only switched due to insurance.  Uchitelle was our primary doctor but we saw Locke once early on and she said (without prompting) that many of their clients choose to delay vax.  They were very supportive but also wanted to be sure we had all the info to make informed decisions.  Their office is really just at the border of Oak Park and River Forest.  (Also they were the docs our midwives used for their kids.)

A good friend of mine uses Dr. Mary Hutton for her children and LOVES her too. My friend delays vaxs/extended breastfeed and she has absolutely no issues with it. She comes highly recommended.
