Commute vs. Homeschool?

I have the possibility of a really great job at a Waldorf school doing development/fundraising it is a 3/4 time position and includes the kids tuition and a huge chunk of the 'afterschool' care I would need as benefits.  The thing is, it is just over an hour commute each way.  And of course, the kids would be with me for this.  And, in full disclosure, we have a built in DVD so I am pretty sure they would end up watching movies/shows a bit.  But we are a tv/screen free house for the most part.

The other option at this point is to homeschool them, as we can not afford private school if I am not working.  There really is not the possibility of moving for at least a year, maybe even two to be closer.

If I were to homeschool the kids I would probably start my own side business.  The kids would be 6 and in 1st in September and just turning 4 and probably looking at two years of early childhood to be 5 turning 6 when starting kinder not 4 turning 5.  (so right now he is 3 1/2).

WWYD?  Any options that I am not seeing?

I think it sounds like a great opportunity. The only downside that pops to mind immediately is how early your kids would have to be up and out.  At my daughter's Waldorf early childhood program, I believe the teachers are there an hour before school starts, at 7:30 am.  If that were your situation, you'd have to be out of the house by 6:30, give or take, after having had to get 2 children plus yourself ready.  Doable, but certainly not fun - at least not in my case. My daughter is 5.5 and some mornings are downright ugly and our school is a mere 10 minute drive away.
