Chlorella and Detox/chelation... Should I avoid it while still nursing?

I've recently read WONDERFUL things about chlorella, and for non-detox reasons I want to take it. However, since it chelates so well, and I have a lot of mercury in my mouth, should I avoid it while nursing? DD is now 7 months old and eats very little in the way of solid still. It wouldn't be a real hardship to wait another year or so until she's nursing just about once a day, but I'd really like to get into it sooner rather than later. Just don't know if it would detox only through a particular pathway, or if it's not choosey and would find everything exiting through my bm as well.

Thanks

I probably would not detox too aggressively with chlorella (or anything else), considering the amalgams and such a young baby.  Maybe a little tiny bit would be reasonable since it does have so many wonderful properties that may outweigh the detox factor.  I use it a lot now that my babe is older (she's 2), but I have no metal fillings.  Anything you detox will end up in bm, pretty much.  What you can do though, is start giving it to your baby!  If you decide to use some yourself, make sure you give it to baby as well.  Also, you can use bentonite clay to help remove toxins for both your baby and yourself.  It will help bind and remove toxins through the bowel, lessening what might otherwise go to the bm.  I recommend using clay any time you do anything that might detox at all.
