Disposable dipes?

I did a search, but it seemed like most of what I came up with was several years old.  We're moving at the end of the month.  We'll spend 4 days with a CDing friend and I'll be using her dipes, but then we're flying and then staying in a hotel for 3 nights.  I've already made the decision to use sposies until we are settled into our new house.  Now the question is, which one?

DS started solids about a month ago and we've got the pasty in between EBF & solids poop.  He poops once a day, so it needs to contain 1 big poop.  Also, he goes all night without being changed, so needs to hold a lot of pee.  Do I need 2 different kinds of diapers?  Which ones should I get?  When he was 1 month old we traveled with the whole foods generic brand and by the end of Labor day weekend he had a rash.  I already have wipes since we have to use disposable ones for daycare anyway.

Oh yeah, and would I end up using more sposies than CD?  Trying to figure how many I'll need.

Thanks mamas!

I have no experience with CD so not sure the amount needed a day between the two.

With disposables if your child doesn't have sensitive skin or any other issues of that nature then you would be able to go with any brand.

We use Luvs and Target brand Up&Up it all depends on what is the cheapest at the time. They mainly go by weight. However what I do is when DD reaches the lowest weight on one of the sizes I move to that size as it just seems to hold everything in better. She is a size 3 now and not sure how much she weighs at that moment. last check she was just under 15lbs. But we hardly ever have blow outs unless she hasn't gone for a day or two. I am not even sure how many we go through a day. I think we go through about 40-50 diapers a week. Sometimes its more sometimes less.

I haven't looked into organic ones because well they are to expensive for our budget so no help in other types. I looked at Huggies Naturals but just never tried them.

Hopefully someone has more help for you.

I wanted to CD, but gave up early (overwhelmed).   I am now using Nature Babycare and I love them:

Not just because they are green and largely biodegradable: they're also very absorbent and my son (3.5 months) hasn't had a rash yet.  Most nights, I can make do with one diaper only (but do get the biggest size his weight will allow).

A friend of mine gave similar glowing reports (she used them also next to CDs).

We also use the nature babycare, we use them for nighttime (although we EC, DS does not want to use the potty at night).  We have occasionally had big poops in them and it holds them well.   DS is a heavy wetter at night and sometimes the sposie doesn't quite hold it all, but combined with a wool soaker it does very well.  DS had rashes with other types of sposies.
