clothing that is conscious but *nice*

I've had a bit of a time finding clothing that is sustainable, preferably organic, and american made in fair facilities while also being attractive (I prefer romantic/soft/chic/lace looks) and in pretty colors (I do not want a wardrobe of all dull colors).

And places you know to meet these requirements?

I consider buying used clothing a sustainable practice, so my suggestion is to search out local consignment stores or shop on ebay/etsy.  New organic clothing is pretty expensive and it still goes through most of the manufacturing processes new conventional cotton clothing goes through.

I've tried on ebay... seems to be mainly everything is new??? I thought that ebay was for used items, but i don't know, maybe not so much any more. I've searched etsy, but haven't really found what I'm looking for.. seems mainly high fashion or loungey, and I want in the middle!

I do think I'll try some trifting this weekend though :)

There is a filter on the left side of the page on Ebay to only see used items. Very useful!

Jute and Jackfruit is a place to start.  Everything they sell is either made in the USA or is fair trade.  Disclaimer:  Its freaking pricey though.  They sell Indigenous Designs though which is my favorite crunchy clothing company.

And even though its not an American company I love the stuff at Hessnatur.  There are some very pretty designs there and they often (like now) have free shipping.

Me too lol!  I'm lucky that Indigenous Designs is local to me and they have a warehouse sale once a year where they practically give stuff away.
