Forum Ads: Cocoa Pebbles Treats Healthy?

What a crock. What parent is going to believe Cocoa Pebbles rice crispy treats are healthy for their kids? Come on. I'm not a health nut but I sure wouldn't waste my calories on garbage either. Yuck.

Personally, I'd rather have a brownie. Oooh or a butter rum muffin from Henry's market. Mmm mmm.

And staying on topic (BFing): I've noticed my twins get a bit gassy when I consume too many starchy foods. My diet is mostly lean meats and veggies but I love homemade pasta too and those seem to give them problems. Oh and I learned very early that they can't tolerate the enzymes from broccoli. Sucks because broccoli is my fave vegetable.

I agree!  I think MDC sold out to the man..  :(

I wonder how much we can rag on the mainstream products in the ads--would the administrators have to pull critical posts that go directly against their advertisers' interests?

It is sad.  I know it is how most websites are funded.  It's the way it works.  But I feel pretty grumpy that I just saw an ad here for Chemlawn shake.gif

The thing is it's not in the best interest of the website to allow such adds.  We're not the target demographic for  this stuff.  If other mainstream yet somewhat natural products were being displayed it would be different.  Where is Annies, Amy's, Ians, 7th gen, Stoneyfield, Method, Burt's bees, etc.  They'd get alot more ad revenue with those sorts of product placements.

If you look in Q and S, they explain why the incongruous ads. Something about contracts and third party ads, but they're working on switching over to ads that are more in line with MDC values.
