getting a cat used to raw food diet

I was wondering how you got your cats used to eating raw foods?

I have two cats, a 13 year old and a 1 year old.  Both are eating the same type of food right now (Taste of the Wild grain free dry cat food and Weruva grain free canned food), and I want to give them raw food at least once or twice a week.  I have read in several of my cat books that its good to give them raw food, because it can keep them very healthy and less likely to get sick. Both of the foods they are eating right now are organic, no by-products, have veggies and fruit and herbs, and are also made of human grade food and made in the US.

The only trouble I am having is that when I bought some raw cat food at the local natural pet store and fixed it according to the directions, both of my cats would not eat it.  I assumed they'd like the chicken, since they are used to eating chicken, but they just won't eat it.

Have your cats ever eaten anything other than commercially prepared food? I'm asking because when I was growing up my parents sometimes fed our cats left over meat or fish and they always gobbled it up. I don't have a cat now, but I do feed my dogs raw, but I've never used prepared raw foods from a pet store. We just feed them from the butcher shop and grocery store meat sections. You know, the same chicken pieces we would eat.

What was this packaged raw food like? I'm guessing it was ground, which I don't think would be a problem in itself. We started our GSD puppy on home ground raw meaty bones. Did you serve it cold? The smells seem to be more obvious when raw food is root temp at least.
