What natural remedies have you successfully used to help you sleep? I'm not willing to try OTC or other meds at this point.
I'm having more and more problems falling back asleep after a bathroom run and waking up at 4:30 or 5am when i don't have to be up for work until 7am. Seems to happen regardless of my exercising but it does slow me down with exercise. I'm trying to work through it, but I'm missing my sleep and it's starting to affect my emotions.
I'm totally having this problem. Lucky for me, my midwife just recommended Benadryl to help me get a handle on this nasty allergy/asthma attack I'm having so I'll sleep like a baby tonight... and all day tomorrow. One thing that does help me is not taking my vitamins at night. But I forget to take them in the morning when I do that so I'm just dealing with the sleepless nights. I'm sorry you're dealing with this too. I hope it goes away soon for both of us!
I've been suffering from this as well. I've been doing some reading online about how to get to sleep in the first place- that's my biggest problem. Important tips are no screens (TV, phone, computer) an hour before bed, no exercise two hours before. Read or listen to music before going to sleep. Set a time limit that you will lie there trying (30-45 min) and then get up and do something that will help you fall asleep (read, music). You just end up stressing yourself out by staying in bed thinking about sleeping.
I try to limit my liquid intake two hours before bed. I also drink Calm http://www.calmnatural.com/ twice a day on my midwife's recommendation. That seems to help. Don't turn on the light when you get up to go to the bathroom.
Honestly, I've just given up in a way. My body doesn't want to go to sleep before 1:30, so I usually just read until then. Then I nap during the day.
The only time I can get to sleep easily and early is when dp is here on the weekends. So 5 days out of 7, not goo sleep. At least I get two days off!
