Anyone have Fifth Disease as an adult? My son had it a couple of weeks ago and now I've got a little bit of joint pain and some super swollen knees. I'm just curious how it affected others.

Fifth Disease
I had it in June 2009. Initially, a lot of joints hurt. Even all of my toes! It mostly went away after a couple weeks except my knees, elbows and hands hurt a few more weeks. After that, it came and went, but was never as bad as it was the first time. It hasn't been back for a while now so I'm hoping it's gone! I'd say it lasted about 18 months. I never found much that helped but you could try some joint pain remedies like fish oil, glucosamine, etc. and see if they make a difference. My mom gave me some kind of cherry supplement to try too.

So glad I found this. I had bad bad wrist pain a couple of weeks ago, and doctor dismissed my idea that it could be fifths. Son woke up from nap today with the red sandpapery cheeks and general misery.Â
My wrist pain is almost completely gone after ~10 days. The originating wrist still hurts a bit, and gets sore if I do too much knitting ;-) Otherwise I'm totally recovered.
