Need Help: Being Interviewed on Home birth

Thread Starter
Hi everyone,
I am wondering if anyone can help me.

I have just found out I am being interviewed today, along with my midwife, for an article on homebirth for the local paper.

My daugther is 8 months old, so I have had several months where I have not had to defend my position, and I am afraid to admit that I am a little fuzzy on all the stats that I should make sure to talk about today.

If anyone reads this post in the next two hours, could you email me some thoughts, stats, current info or just good solid info on homebirth that I can use during the interview.

I appreciate it so much!!

I will definetely try to post the interview when it comes out.

Maybe talk with your midwife beforehand. My guess is that she knows all the stats etc, that you are refering to and that both she and the interviewer expect her to field technical questions. They are probably looking to you for the warm, fuzzy, personal angle. Review your birth story in your mind. Think about why you chose to homebirth and why it was special. If you are really nervous try thinking about the obvious Q's you will be asked and what you want to say. Stuff like 'weren't you scared?' and 'what if there had been a complication?' 'what about the mess?' etc... Then just relax and be yourself. This is a great opportunity and I am sure you will do really well!
