My oldest boy is 9 and currently waring size 3 shoes. I found it's getting harder to find socks that still fit him after washing. I looked up some size charts and it seems children's socks usually stop right at size 3 or 4, after that they're the same size as ladies standard sized socks. And by 13 or 14 or so the boys will grow to men's size. So, does it mean I'm supposed to buy ladies socks for him for the next few years? Obviously I'll stick to solid boring colors.  The cute prints are for girls. But really, is there no more cute children's socks for a 9 year old boy? :( He still likes dinosaurs, robots, sports logos...etc. on his socks.

At least around here, Hanes Large socks should still fit your son. I get ours at Target. They go up to size 7 or 8, I believe, and then they move into men's sizes. But yeah, they're pretty boring. My son's OK with that. (He's 10 and wears a size 7 shoe, so he's nearly into men's socks already.)

If I remember correctly, Gap sometimes has some interesting socks. Yep -- not much -- pirates and sports + some colors, but they're better than white and go up to size 4.

Yeah, I think he's about out of luck with the cute socks. My older son has been in plain white sport socks for some time now. (He's about a size 7.) Actually, I buy all plain white socks -- either Hanes large boys or women's, which seem to be about the same size -- and he and his 10 year old sister just share. It's kind of nice not to have to figure out whose socks are whose! Sometimes I grab a pair of their socks for myself, lol!Â
