**ONE** Day our BFP's will come - ONE THREAD May 8-14th - Page 3

post #41 of 103

Seriously moody in the middle-end of the 2WW.irked.gif Wish me luck while my family visits -- the first group arrives tomorrow.

Thanks Sourire (smile) for taking over the list.superhero.gif

Fertile thought to all.

grouphug.gif Thanks everyone, I'll only be there for overnight and one day, but I am going to try to focus on more activities and fun this cycle. My DH felt really down about AF coming (surprising to me), so I think he is really up for trying this time & we are going to make it fun (God-willing). I started Soy Isoflavones last night, I did a lot of research on it after hearing it on here in passing over the last 6 months. I'm doing 200mg on days 1-5, bringing in the big guns with the highest dose, I don't want to start low just to try higher next time, I'm sick of all the next times. I decided on days 1-5 because it gives you more eggs, it can be a problem b/c they don't mature enough by CD11-15, but I already don't O until 17-18, and I don't want to risk even later ovulation by doing later days. So far I'm just a little tired today, but no moodiness, headaches, hot flashes. I'm thinking positive thoughts and praying a lot. I'll  continue updating through the week, thank you Sourire for taking over next week! I'll be back in a few weeks, hopefully with good news, if not, I'll be back to find someone to commiserate with me over another visit from AF. I'll be lurking for BFP's from all of you--- Sourire (GL with the Clomid!!!), Gemmine, MommyM, Writinglove, Vivica...anyone I missed, I'll be stalking you too!

sila- it looks like you may have od yesterday, or today? maybe late last night so the temp shift didnt happen yet?  i think you just have to wait till the morning to see. sneak in a BD just in case!

cbaa- lookign forward to seeing what news you bring back!  and the soy did delay my ovulation, but only by a few days. so i hope it works for you!

AFM- seriously?  iv been walking around thinking i already od, and now a temp spike this morning. yikes.gif at least DH was frisky. innocent.gif i swear men can smell it when were ovulating better than our charts can tell us! hahah

post #44 of 103

sila - I would suspect you are Oing today and that your temp will jump up tomorrow morning.

cbaa - I'm no expert on soy (I haven't yet tried it myself) but I seem to remember from some discussions I've seen on these boards that some ladies had more success with a lower dose than they did with a higher one! Anyways I hope the soy does the trick for you.

AFM - got an ovarian reserve test today and I had 21 follicles (9 on the right and 13 on the left ovary). So I got home and started googling and found out that anything between 16 and 30 is absolutely the best possible result you could hope for, so my ovaries are awesome hooray! DH and I also found out 2 weeks ago that DH's semen is beyond awesome, and that everything's fine with my uterus and my tubes... so all we need now is some Clomid to get my hormones in order and then there is absolutely no reason I shouldn't get a BFP!

Speaking of DH's semen, our Dr nicknamed DH "Speedy Gonzalez" due to the extremely high motility of his sperm. I have also read that male sperm tend to swim faster than female sperm, so I am thinking if all of DH's sperm are super fast, I will probably be having a boy. I had already come to this conclusion a few years ago anyways because everyone in DH's family only has boys (his grandfather had only sons, and each of those sons had only boys as well).

Thanks guys! Going to do my best to encourage Sheepish.gif DH to BD again tonight! Bc I thought I had O'd yesterday I told him after last night that we could take a break but I guess I oopsed... FX and praying.gif for a temp jump in the morning!

Viv - *high five* on us going around thinking we already o'd and yay for "helpful" DH's!!!

Sourire - Go ovaries! And little boys are such a blessing! Hope you get that BFP soon!

cbaa - enjoy your little trip! I live right by the ocean and really need to go the beach more often bc it is so relaxing and freeing.

cbaa, good luck with the soy and enjoy your trip!

Vivica, you're probably right about our men being able to tell when we're ovulating.  I've always thought that.  It goes back to the caveman days, I'm sure.  :)

Sourire, I don't know if all that stuff about pH balance affecting gender is true, but I wonder...if your DH's sperm is mostly male and your body is not ideal for male sperm to thrive...maybe that's why you're having a harder time conceiving?  Just a thought I had when I read your post.

That's an interesting thought BubbleMa! Any idea how I would go about figuring out whether my body is good for male sperm?

You can get pH test strips online.  Just do a Google search for "pH test strips".  There's also a lot of info out there about what your diet should be like for conceiving a boy.  Do you eat a lot of dairy?  That's one of the biggest no-no's, especially yogurt.

I'm trying not to get excited, but I've been experiencing nausea for the past 2 days.  I'm only 7dpo so I'm trying to shrug it off as a side effect of the nasty sinus headache I've been having.

How are my cycle buddies?  Gemmine?  Tantylynn?

post #50 of 103

So my SIL messages me on Beluga today...general chitchat to begin with...then she asks how things are going with the TTC. I tell her what's up...no BFP and no AF either. A few symptoms that could mean pregnancy...but could be contributed to other things.

Then she tells me that she's gonna be testing on Sunday and she's got all these symptoms, etc. I don't WANNA be mean or annoyed, but I swear I WILL be if AF comes for me and she gets a positive!! She had six kids and only one miscarriage in seven years time...and her youngest is only three months older than our only...and this is her first cycle trying and my third cycle trying (not counting our unplanned surprise in February that I lost two days after my BFP).

I think I deserve my second before she gets her seventh!! Petty I know, but it's how I feel!! I will be happy for her, same as for all the mamas I know who didn't lose their littles and are due around the time my angel would have been due...but it'll still be hard.

And don't even get me started on how unfair it is for the mamas who have been trying WAY longer than I have and still don't have a little one in arms or on the way!! I pray you all get your hoped and dreamed for little ones!!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Update on me...hours from hitting cd 29 and only a few stringy brown bits when wiping. Hoping that means a late implantation and not that AF is starting. I HATE the horrid not knowing feeling between ovulation/possible conception and the confirmation of either conception or period!!
i dropped out from ttc for a while, but i am back again.
We didn't stop trying, not really, but with a move from missouri to germany, we had a lot of other things on our minds!
I got AF today, which i was almost excited about.
previously, i only had periods 4 times per year without helping it along somehow.
the last week, i have been really bitchy, and my nipples have hurt like heck. for me, pms and early preg symptoms are identical, so i knew it would be one or the other.
but now, a new cycle starts, and i will start my temping and vitex again tomorrow.
we will be getting full medical coverage in the next few weeks, so will think about getting a full work up sometime this summer, but for now, i will leave it with temping, vitex, and hope!
MommyM Ugh today has not been my day. Last night after dinner I felt like the food just wasn't sitting right in my stomach. All night I dreamt that I had food poisoning and when I woke in the morning I still had that nauseous feeling. My dr wanted me to get 7DPO blood work done, so I did that this morning. It's really nice because a pathology clinic rents a room in the office that I work in, so I just dropped in thinking I'd be in and out in minutes. WELL I passed out and vomited once I woke up. I have had many blood tests and I've never passed out. I still don't feel quite right and don't know WTH is going on!? I've also been spotting the last 2 days irked.gif. I'll try and take a page out of your book and get excited about this nausea instead of having major mood swings at poor DH...
Can i please be moved from waiting to be ready to waiting to know?  I stopped my BCPs because the two months i was on them i lost my sex drive and that was getting old...so this cycle we haven't done anything to avoid or prevent anything from happening.  I'm on CD 18 and my cycles have been anywhere from 18 to 27 days long since i got my first PPAF so i'm figuring i'm about 4 dpo from the signs my body has been giving me. I can't temp right now because dh already packed my BBT term...so i have to just go by my body cues!  I'm done worrying about what my family will say to me since Emma is just 5 months old right now....it took us SOOOOOOOOO long to get pregnant with her so i am just going to stop worrying lol...everyone can kiss my tail at this point if they wanna judge me!!!
HUGS to those AF has found and i've got my FX for those testing!!!!!
post #54 of 103
AF started. Please move me to waiting to ovulate.
I never drink milk, haven't eaten yogurt in a while, but I love cheese. I'll definitely look into this, thanks!
MommyM - my fingers are crossed for you!
texanromaniac - I know exactly what you mean about your SIL! Last time I saw my SIL at easter, I suspected she was in the early stages of pregnancy (with her 2nd). If its true I know she won't tell anyone for a few months, including close family, because she is very secretive... its a bit annoying because DH and I have been very open about TTC with her and DH's brother. And if I don't get a BFP by the time she announces her pregnancy, I know I will be SUPER upset, even though I probably have no right to be.
bremen - welcome back! I hope the vitex works for you! Have you considered trying soy? It might help for you since you have such long cycles.
tantylynn - I have heard other stories of people passing out from little things before they knew they were pregnant. My fingers are crossed for you!
AFM - Took my first dose of Clomid last night before bed, and well... look what it did to my temp this morning... crazy!  http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/2d1bce
Is this a positive OPK? Do you think the test line is "similar" or darker than the control line? I really don't have a lot of OPK "experience", this is my second cycle using them. Rough start to the day...didn't BD last night, temp didn't go up this morning (but maybe that is good and there is still time). I'm obsessing worse than ever....sorry for the pic quality, these strips are tiny!
It looks pretty close so it's either pos or almost pos....i'd test again either later this afternoon or tomorrow to see if it's darker if you have more to use. G/L!!!!
post #59 of 103
I interpret OPKs only as comparisons... what I mean is I take 1 every 12 hours and I take the darkest one as the positive. You should see a gradual rise and fall in the darkness of the line if you keep taking it every 12 hours.
Based on my experience you either just recently had your peak, or you are building up to it.
post #60 of 103
SilaMaria...   I would count that as a positive OPK. But keep BDing for about 3-4 more days, a positive OPK does not always mean you will ovulate right away.
