It's hard to give advice for arguments without knowing your exact reason for not vaccinating or delaying (i.e. ingredients, potential side effects, did someone you know suffer a severe reaction, no fear of the VPDs, all of these reasons? etc).  With that said, there is a reason you are not comfortable with vaccines at this time.  You shouldn't have to explain yourself any further.  I would just say you have done your research and do not feel comfortable with this, this, or that, right now, for whatever reason you are not vaccinating. End of story. If you want to get into a hot debate about it, then I would surely pull out your research and brush up on what you have learned before hanging out with these people again winky.gif

If not, I would leave it at that and just tell them how you feel, for example, that you feel they are unsafe and don't want your child subjected to them, etc.

I agree with PP. You should at least know WHY you have chosen not to vax at this point. But your reasons are your reasons - I would not get into any discussion or debate about it with friends. To me it's not worth it. Unless they have done an equal amount of research and come to an opposite conclusion - there is no point in discussing your personal medical desicions for your child.

I guess I have always been a classic over sharer, lol, so that sort of advice is very good for me to be reminded of.  I dont have to explain myself and I can just drop the subject.

Now if I can just get my brain to stop replaying the scenrio over and over, lol.

Regarding the whole "people died a lot before vaccines" I have two comments.  A)People still die a lot.  Death and taxes people, death and taxes.  And B) Treatment for illnesses have improved ten fold since those days.  For an otherwise healthy person, most of these illnesses aren't life threatening, thanks to modern medicine and clean water.
