Hey mommas!  Just got my twin boys' allergy IgE testing back.  They both came up high to almonds, which is funny because I have never seen a notable reaction with either of them to almonds, and they have been eating them since they were about 2 years old (now they are 3.5 yrs old. Not even runny noses or anything.  What's interesting is we are treating them for yeast overgrowth and trying to heal leaky gut(s).  Once I began reducing grain and introducing more fermented traditionally prepared foods into their diet, their development SKYROCKETED!  So for the past couple of months they have been eating almond flour like crazy!

It really makes me question if I should remove almond meal from their diet that I have seen nothing but POSITIVE things from ever since I increased their intake of it.  What are your thoughts on this??  Keep in mind I have seen no "allergic reactions".

On the flip side I am looking into pecan flour as a possible replacement.  Can any of you offer any insight on whether or not baking with pecan meal is comparable to almond meal?

Thanks for any insight smile.gif
