is "period" really possible while pregnant?

I have heard and read people who say it is possible to have "period" like bleeding but actually be pregnant, but wondering if anyone knows if that is true or not.

Had my period from last saturday to thursday, but am feeling so tired lately and very nauseated, and before my period came really felt like I could be pregnant. Don't want to waste a test since I'm only 4 days off of my period so technically shoudn't be pregnant yet - but wondering if it is possible that that bleeding was not really a menstrual cycle.

thnks in advance

Yes, totally possible, but not terribly likely.  You could get a dollar store test.  :)  Do you temp?  If your temps remain above the coverline after your bleeding stops that would be a good indication.

Did you test yet?

I had what I thought was my period on April 30, but it only lasted 3 days when it normally lasts about 6. I am still feeling bloated and crampy off and on. In the last few days I have felt very thirsty and lightheaded, symptoms I felt while pregnant about this time with my son who is almost a year old. I am not temping because I nurse my son about 1-2 times a night and am not sure how accurate it would be. I ordered a pregnancy test online and it should be here tomorrow. Trying to decide if I should take it now or just wait until my next period should be here. I "wasted" so many pregnancy tests last time around and told myself I would relax and just let things happen this time around.

I haven't tested, but haven't been feeling pregnant so I'm assuming I'm not. I did order those Wondlfo tests from amazon since they are so cheap and i wont feel guilty about using them in the future.

Many breastfeeding, co-sleeping women successfully temp.  If you're ttc, I definitely think it's worth it to take the mystery out of what's going on.  I know I always told myself I would just let things happen, but the reality is, that's not my personality.  I want to know what's going on with my body and I don't like to wait.  orngbiggrin.gif

Yep. I had this happen with this pg, had what appeared like a  normal AF, felt like crap the entire month but chalked it up to various things going on in my life.  A couple days before I should of gotten AF again, I suddenly felt quite nauseous, ended up taking a pg test and it was positive. Only I started bleeding a couple days later, assumed it was an early m/c and went on. To make a longer story brief, I was pg through both of those periods and am now due in August. I certainly wasn't expecting that and I still would swear up and down that first AF felt/looked like a normal one. The second was shorter, 3 days of heavy bleeding but then it just stopped, and that is what got me wondering.
