I also forgot to chime in that the hyperemesis is back with avengence. I had a few weeks that I was only getting sick once a day or so, but the past week, I'm back to what seems like every hour on the hour. I'm sure that doesn't help. It is hard to figure out insulin doses if there is just a 50/50 chance food actually being digested. I am gaining weight and the bad lows are less frequent, but there is so much that I am trying to control, but even more that is just simply out of my hands.
Regarding the ice cream, I hit it up regularly. Dairy and (oddly) simple sugar seems to be among the most predictable foods for me. Now rice (always been a foe), corn (always processed, but now just whole, normal corn), and oatmeal (which is new) I can't look at without consequences.
ETA: I should also say, that I decided to read the news right in the middle of my high yesterday and was hit with this scary tale of uncontrolled GD http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/07/11/16-pound-baby-jamichael-texas_n_894473.html, which is obviously very far away from the normal consequences of some blood sugar irregularity. Meh, hormones and general anxiety will work a gal into a frenzy.
