Summertime suggestions for our DC with eczema

DD1 has eczema and has it pretty much under control with meds.  However, summertime is miserable for her with the heat.  She seems much more sensitive to the heat than the cold and doesn't like to be out very long in weather above 85 degrees or so, especially is she can't find much shade.  This makes both summer and winter times when we end up staying mostly indoors.  This makes me sad, and not to mention I have a garden to raise.  I want her to enjoy time outside.  I don't like heat either.  I'd live in Alaska at the drop of a hat, but I will look over it to do my tasks or enjoy being outdoors.  I understand it is so hard for her to do that.  Do you have any suggestions about how to make the heat more tolerable for her?

Have you tried an elimination diet to see if there are any food allergies/intolerances causing the eczema? If you can find the food triggers, then the eczema might clear on its own!
