Birthday Party Park Ideas

Hello Mamas

My little guy will be turning one next month and we are considering a outdoor party at a park. We would like to do it in our backyard but feel a park will be more suitable for parking and whatnots. Anyone know of a good place in mid to southern RI that has a decent picnic shelter with playgrounds or some sort of play area for kiddos from 1 to 10yrs old? Goddard Park seems nice and centralized for everyone to get to but I am not sure of the facilities. Any ideas?

Goddard park is great -- they do have covered pavilions and bathrooms. It looks like they charge though to reserve a site... http://www.riparks.com/goddard.htm
The only major caution I have is that it's SOOO easy to get lost there so unless your guests are very familiar with the park, plan on having a few cell #'s for people to contact if they're lost.

I'm blanking out on other parks right now, most of the ones that come to mind are further north. You can view the state parks here though: http://www.riparks.com/listing.htm

How many people are you planning on having? Are you willing to pay a fee or were you hoping to find somewhere free?

Thanks for the info. I cant seem to reach anyone at the park yet (maybe because it is off season) but I will just keep calling... We are looking at about 45 people and I dont mind to pay a small fee, but ideally free would be great. I drove up to the park yesterday to check it out and saw all the pavillions. Super cute!! Next, pray for blue skies......
