How far is too far in refusing to give information and such?

Apparently, the OB office I am with also requires you to give your insurance information completely with each visit. I am talking over the phone, taking the time to read off all the numbers, even though they have copies of the cards there. Plus, give full address each time, not just say it has not changed. Apparently, I cannot just say nothing has changed on the insurance either. Plus, I have to regive my last menstrual period. I am not sure what else they wanted, because after that, I said no more. I don't know how they have the time to sit on the phone that long taking all that information with each visit.

I know it is not a huge deal, but it is unusual. I have never known an OB to do that, each visit. Would I be going too far to refuse to regive all that information over the phone with each appointment? Since that makes the conversation lengthy, I have to make time to give the information. Obviously, it is not a huge thing, just a major PITA. Does anyone else's doctor's office do that?

No. My office asks me if there are any changes at each visit, and I only have to go through showing my card and so on if something has changed. I have never been asked for the insurance info over the phone: that's not a billable visit, anyway.

Turned out the employee was new and was asking all the patients the new patient information. I felt sorry for her when I met her. She looked young and like she was trying, but was left alone to man the front desk by herself.
