Oversupply? Food sensitivity? Or just a normal newborn?

My nearly 6-week-old occasionally pulls off the breast shrieking as if she's in a horror movie. It only happens maybe once a day, if that. Her poops are also somewhat greenish brown and slimy. She's gaining weight really well. She's fussy sometimes, happy sometimes. What do you think? Is something wrong or is this normal?

The back story:

A few weeks ago we started block feeding because oversupply seemed to be a problem. She never drained a breast, the let-down spray was making her gag and cough and fuss, she was vomiting what seemed like a whole feeding once or twice a day, plus she was pulling off the breast crying. Now I'm much less engorged, leaking somewhat less and most of her issues are gone. Most.

Also, I've been avoiding a bunch of foods because I thought they were making her gassy and uncomfortable. It's driving me NUTS!!! There's almost nothing I can eat!!! But every time she has a particularly fussy day it seems I've just had a bunch of orange juice after avoiding citrus or just drank more milk than usual or something.

So how do you know? Could there be a food sensitivity? Could this just be lingering symptoms of oversupply issues? Or is there really nothing wrong and I should go pour a big glass of milk?

It sounds like lingering oversupply to me - Even after we moved to block feeding/single breast feedings, DD's occasional screaming at the breast bouts didn't stop until I stopped leaking completely (8 weeks..? I think?). The coughing, sputtering, & spraying let downs stopped pretty much immediately, and the bright green diapers got lighter.. but the tummy tightness/gas pain did not resolve until my supply was really well evened out. Her poops also turned pretty much totally yellow, sometimes slightly orange. I returned to work 2 weeks ago and the nursing/pumping/nursing routine has brought back a little bit of my oversupply &  a little bit of DD's screaming at the breast episodes & a couple green diapers. (She's about 15 weeks - we had 6 weeks in the clear).

So it's both - something's probably wrong (in her eyes/feelings! poor little fussy babe) - and it's probably normal.. oversupply is a common issue and it should continue to work itself out with block feeding. I found that DD's second major growth spurt adjusted my supply really well.

ROTFLMAO.gifon the huge glass of milk. I stillheart.gif soymilk, but DD's tummy doesn't seem to!
