Julian Matthew is here!

Julian Matthew is here! 8 lbs., 3 oz. and 20.5 in. long. My water broke Sun. morning and contractions never started up. After a 43 hour labor, including Pitocin-induced contractions and 3 hours of pushing, our son was born by c-section at 2:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 10. We were so close, but his head was stuck and just wouldn't come out. He takes after his father! The OB said after seeing him that no matter how the labor had gone, we would have had to have a c-section anyway, because of the size and shape of his head.

Recovery has not been easy. I've essentially been through a vaginal delivery and c-section, and my abdomen is very sore. Our little boy is great, though! Such a little cutie!

Congratulations!!! What a lovely name...I truly love it!

My sister had a similiar experience, with her second baby. She soooo wanted a VBAC and after going throught the whole labor she ended up getting a c-section. Your baby is happy and loved, that is all that matters!!!
