Has anyone used these?  I have been using these for about a month and a half.  I really like that my diapers have stopped repelling.  I have been struggling with build up on my diapers for quite a while.  My problem right now is that I am having some ammonia issues in my natural fibre diapers and overnight diapers.  So much so that my DD had little blisters on her bum.  It makes me want to cry that her bum is sore.

I have been struggling to find a detergent that works for us and doesn't require stripping every 2 weeks. When I started cloth diapering I was using Tide Free and Clear (my family doesn't react well to anything scented) I never had any problems with it but we decided to change to a cruelty free detergent.  That was where all my problems started.  I tried Rockin' Green and ended up with awful smelling diapers and build up to the point they wouldn't absorb anything.  I contacted the company and they suggested some changes.  After I stripped all my diapers and got them back with no build up and absorbent I tried again.  With in 2-3 weeks they were back to stinky and repelling.  I then decided to try Nellie's Laundry Soda and I had a little bit better luck with it.  I didn't get smelly diapers but again in a month or so I ended up with repelling diapers.

So I decided to try a small package of soap nuts.  I was pretty pleased that I haven't had to strip anything since I started but I am wondering what I can do about the ammonia.  I am pretty sure that the ammonia build up has to do with the fact that we just started to do CD full time.  We used to use disposables when we were out and over night but have since changed to using the CDs all the time.  I am almost half tempted to close my eyes and pick up a package of tide to see if that helps.

I have a top loader and slightly but not too hard water. Our washing routine is to run a lukewarm (more room temperature) rinse with the full amount of water and no detergent.  A hot wash with the soap nuts and a double rinse.  I then hang them up to dry.  I toss the prefolds in the drier for about 5 minutes to make them no so crunchy.

If anyone can pass on some information that would be very helpful.  I live in a small town in Ontario, Canada so I don't have access to a lot of the detergents that are "recommended" for cloth diapers.  But if anyone can recommend a detergent like tide that is also cruelty free our family would greatly appreciate it!  Thanks for your help.
