January 2012 ladies who took a bit longer to get pregnant - Page 9

I had some brown spotting this afternoon (11 weeks). I had this around the same time last pregnancy, but I was still freaking out. I headed off to the doctor's office (luckily it's a quick walk) after my son woke up from his nap. The doctor wasn't there, but the nurse/receptionist said I could wait around to see if he had time, though he had 3 other patients scheduled already. Thankfully, he took the time to see me right away. We took a quick peek with the ultrasound. The baby still has a heartbeat, and was moving around in such a cute way (wiggling its arms, it looked like). So, everything looks ok. No sign of the bleed. The doctor said my placenta was still low, and sometimes a blood vessel pops. Or maybe my cervix got aggravated.

I'm even now feeling a bit anxious, but mostly calm since I saw the baby is ok. We're still keeping our next scheduled appt, which is on Friday for the 1st tri scan, a long one if I remember correctly. So, we'll get to see the baby for more than a couple seconds (that was our quick peek today: baby is moving, heartbeat, no sign of blood, done).

sweetbee - I'm glad to hear everything looks to be ok.  Bleeding is never fun in pregnancy.

Oh Sweetbee, I'm sorry you had that stress. Thank goodness it happened in your first pregnancy too, so that you had a personal reference for a healthy pregnancy with spotting. And I'm so glad they could fit you in for a quickie ultrasound so that you could see that all was well with your little one! Are you feeling any movements yet? You must be around week 12/13 now? I'm at 11 and not feeling anything yet. I've read that some woman can feel a quickening so early as 11 weeks with a second pregnancy.

Welcome melswan! Tell us a little about your TTC journey if you feel like it -- it's always so wonderful to hear about success after trials and tribulations. I just talked to an aquaintance the other day for whom it took 4 years to conceive #2. She said that they were totally relaxed about it the whole time, and didn't go to see any experts, just waited it out. I thought that was pretty cool (and very unlike my experience). But then again, she's not a close friend, so she may not have felt like sharing the anguish of period after period for four years.

Thanks, Emaya. :)

My TCC journey..... Well, it started about 3 years ago after my husband was declared in remission from Hodgkin's Lymphoma. He was diagnosed 5 months after we were married, went through both chemo and radiation, and was in remission in June 2008. As neither one of us was in our 20s anymore (I'm currently 32 and he is 36), we decided to go ahead and start trying. We knew it might take a little while because of the effects of the chemo, but were assured that he was not infertile. So we tried, and tried, and tried. Finally, after about 2 years of TCC I was referred to a reproductive endocrinologist. By this time I suspected there might be a problem with me, and so did my RE after my first visit. He performed a lap and I was diagnosed with stage IV endometriosis. We also discovered that while my hubby's counts are decent, his morphology is very low. So, we were told that we would not be able to conceive apart from IVF with ICSI. That was hard to hear. We took about a year to keep trying on our own, but ultimately ended up doing our first cycle of IVF in February of this year. While I did get pregnant, unfortunately it was ectopic. We decided to try again, and on May 8th (Mother's Day!!), transferred two embryos. We were praying for twins, but it is a singleton. Nonetheless, we are beyond excited and thankful for this child!

Welcome, melswan! I've added you to the list.

sweetest, if you're still reading, do you want me to put you under losses or remove you or something else? I feel really awful asking. I just don't want to keep you there if it bothers you. greensad.gif Take care of yourself and hope to see you pregnant again soon.

The spotting was much less today, hardly noticeable. My nausea was better today, too, so now I'm paranoid again that something is wrong. Hoping to see a healthy, squirming baby on Friday. I think I'm going to be nervous this entire pregnancy.

Oh, Emaya, I'm 11 weeks. I will be 12 weeks on Sunday. I haven't felt any movement yet, though according to the ultrasound, the baby is moving around. I don't even remember when I first felt something last time; I didn't know what it was supposed to feel like. The first real kick was around 20 weeks last time, though. That I remember clearly. It was awesome. love.gif

I first felt my DD move when I was 15 weeks so I'm hoping to feel this baby a bit earlier.

Welcome, melswan!  Congrats on your pregnancy!!

I had my 11-week (I will be 12 weeks on Sunday) appointment today. Funny story. . . I was scheduled for 9, but asked to come in at 8:45 to give blood first. So, around just past 9, I was sitting in the waiting room when the doctor suddenly comes out and says he has to run to the hospital to give birth to a baby! Now, I really had to do this appointment today because it's time sensitive (1st tri scan); the office is closing for a holiday starting next week, and it will be too late when they open again. And the doctor is only open in the morning on Fridays. I was rescheduled for 11:30 this morning. By the time I had walked home, my husband (he was watching our son this morning) told me they had called and said I should come in at 10:30 instead.

So. . . I got there at 10:30. By 11, there were 4 other women waiting with me, and the nurse/receptionist announced that the doctor would be back in half an hour. I think it was 11:30-11:45 when he came in, and I got to go first, yay! I guess he had to give up lunch to get through the other women, too. I'm thinking my 5AM birth last time was pretty convenient then, hmm? winky.gif

Anyways, the baby is doing fine. All the body parts there and measuring on time (maybe like 2 days ahead, but u/s has a range of error). Moving around a bit, too. So, I'm happy. My next appointment will be in about 5 weeks.

Anyone else have belly pics?

Sweetbee - you can go ahead and take me off the list. I meant to ask you earlier, so thanks for checking smile.gif

I'll probably check in on you all once in a while.  I really hope you all have a baby (or two) in your arms in January!  I never feel jealous of you ladies who took so long to get here.  I know how hard that journey is.  I'm doing ok, anxious to start TTC again and trying to remain positive!

Sweetest77, wishing you the best in your new ttc journey. May you be blessed to conceive quickly. Sending lots of baby dust your way.goodvibes.gif May some of that extend to all of us here, so that we continue with healthy pregnancies, easy births, and healthy babies and mamas!

Sweetbee, love the pics. I have to figure out how to do it, because i am definitely showing. Someone even commented a couple of weeks ago and i had to come clean, and tell them i was pregnant. Im now 11 weeks, and i notice my reflection, yep, pregnant looking.  Apparently you pop sooner on your 2nd or 3rd. Im on my third now. I think i 'popped' around 7-8 weeks

I have yet to find a place that I feel comfortable. I am on an IUI forum but I just don't seem to fit in there. I'm hoping this is my spot if you ladies will welcome me. redface.gif

A little about me. My husband and I got together in 2001. He is older the then me and had gotten a vasectomy years earlier. In 2002 we had it reversed. I was so sure that first month that I would get pregnant. I look back and that girl was SO naive. Anyway, about a year later we found out it closed up. SA's were never great but our hearts broke. In 2005 we had a reversal done again. Seemed to go well this time but still, nothing happened. We talked about doing donor sperm but I wasn't ready yet. Finally I told DH that we have to at least try. We need to take the next step and go to a specialist. In Feb of this year we went to an RE about 2 hours North of us. He didn't feel like anything was wrong with me and assumed DH had anti-bodies. We had our first IUI with Clomid in April. BFN. For May I wanted to try something else. On clomid I still only produced 1 follicle and I do that on my own....seemed like a waste. For our April/May cycle we decided on Follistim. I had 3-4 mature follicles but our count was really low. Somehow that cycle worked and we are pregnant with one absolutely gorgeous little bean. We have had 2 u/s (Due to RE) and our first O/b appt in on the 11th. We can't wait to see our baby again. We have been listening to the hb at home with a doppler and I love it. She moves around SO much that I have to chase her with the doppler....LOL. (We say "her" because "it" drives me crazy). :D

Can anyone tell me how to add my signature?

You are very welcome here!  To add your siggy, go to your profile and then scroll down quite a bit and you'll see an edit signature button. It's kinda on the left.

Welcome, PreggoMamma! I've added you.

How is everyone feeling?

Hey everyone-  sorry I have been MIA for a few weeks...lots have been going on.

Was feeling pretty darned good for about two weeks, but then these past few days the nausea has been kicking back in and I have been running to the bathroom a little too often for my liking!  I kept telling myself that once I got past week 9, it should be smooth sailing.  Guess that was wrong!

Went out to the store and purchased some B6 today- hoping that works!!

On a sad note, my sister who was eight weeks ahead of me ended up losing her baby last week.  She was nineteen weeks along.  Makes me paranoid now that something will happen to me!

Hope everyone is doing well and feeling well!

Welcome Preggomama!

Chilichick, im so sorry to hear the news about your sister. Its scary news too. But knowing that the odds of loss in the 2nd trimester are low, should be reassuring....

Im 11 weeks now. Feeling a *little* better. I cant wait to get to week 12 (in 3 days) just so i can be done with feeling like crap.   The relief of the first trimester being over would be very very nice too. Is it over at 12 or 13 weeks?

SweetBee- Thanks. :D

Contact- I have heard 12 and 13 weeks. I looked at a trimester calculator though and it claims I'll be in my second trimester on the 14th at 12 weeks. Hmmm!!!

Chili- So sorry to hear about your sister. How scary. hug2.gif
