I am feeling preety good, each day it sinks in more and more. My HCG was 31 when I was 4 weeks. I go down to see my fertility Dr. for a pregnancy ultrasound on June 6th just to check things out. I finally stopped feeling like I am going to get my period, and occasionally feels little twinges or pokes down there. I have been trying to drink alot of water and just eat healthier in general, before getting pregnant I lost 40lbs just from watching what I eat and portion control. Now we are trying to decide if we want to be suprised or find out gender....
January 2012 ladies who took a bit longer to get pregnant - Page 3
cameragirl - I've heard that sometime autoimmune disease goes into remission while you are pregnant... I hope that is the case for you :)
Starr - your HCG number makes me feel better. I'm guessing I was a little less than or just at 4 weeks when I got my 23... Oh and I want to be surprised about the gender this time (but DH wants to know - I think I'll get my way though!) We found out for the first two and we already have one of each so I'm up for a surprise this time around.
AFM - thanks for the encouragement about the beta everyone - with my first two they just told me I was pregnant and then I didn't see a Dr. until I was 10 weeks along. Now I'm at an RE and they are much more cautious. Sweetbee, thanks for the link... all three of the tests I took have an anecdotal sensitivity of <10, so that is reassuring. The range for beta #s at 12-14dpo are so huge that I am in range, and I know that the first number isn't as important as the second.
Going in for second beta this morning - I think I'm going to call the Dr. this afternoon if they don't call me by 3:00, I really don't want to be in limbo all weekend!
Just trying to stay positive and enjoy this pregnancy, we are all so blessed to be here!
I HAVE NOT READ THE POSTS ALTHO I WOULD LIKE TO, BUT JUST WANTED TO POST MY UPDATE BEFORE I LOSE MY CONNECTION....
I WANT TO EXPRESS THAT I AM NOT CONFIDENT ABOUT THIS PREGNANCY. I HAD BROWN SPOTTING AND CRAMPING YESTERDAY,(17DPO) BUT TOOK MORE PROGESTERONE (ANOTHER 50MG) WHICH STOPPED IT. THIS MORNING (18DPO), GOOD NEWS, THE LINE IS DARKER THAN THE CONTROL LINE ON THE PREGNANCY TEST. SO HCG LEVELS ARE RISING, DOUBLING? THAT I DON’T KNOW.
Not really part of this thread but I was reading it anyway. I had a miscarriage in March at 9 weeks and I had plenty of HCG running through my system but no symptoms--I honestly didn't feel pregnant at all....not even close to anything I'm experiencing now. I had lots of brown spotting. I came to find out my progesterone was super low---so, it does sound like the supplements are working for you (as far as symptoms and making the spotting go away) and all is as it should be!
sweetest, great news! My line was still pretty light at 14dpo (the last time I tested), and I was using 10miU tests. Miriam posted her tests (same as mine) on BSL a few weeks back, and they were still light until like 18dpo, I think it was. And she's pregnant with twins.
maya, I had some spotting last pregnancy, and everything was fine. Hoping for you.
Hope everyone else is doing well. Anyone have nausea yet? Mine has been coming on for a week now, getting worse each day, but still not really bad yet. I guess it's still early, though. I will be 6 weeks tomorrow!
DARE IT SAY IT, BUT...CONGRATULATIONS ON THE NAUSEA SWEET.BEE! IT IS CERTAINLY REASSURING. (CANT BELIEVE I WOULD WISH NAUSEA ON ANYONE, BUT IN OUR CASE, I AM SURE IT IS WELCOME!)
SWEETEST77, YAY FOR DOUBLING BETAS!
KINDERMAMA, IM SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS. ITS INTERESTING TO ME YOU HAD HIGH BETAS BUT NO SYMPTOMS. MAYBE PROGESTERONE IS BEHIND ALL OF IT, BUT THEY SAY NAUSEA COMES FROM THE HCG BECAUSE IT STOPS AFTER THE FIRST TRIMESTER.
IT COULD ALSO BE THAT DIFFERENT WOMEN RESPOND DIFFERENTLY TO THE SAME LEVELS OF HORMONE. ANOTHER THING THAT IS CONFUSING-HCG IS SUPPOSED TO CAUSE INCREASED PROGESTERONE, SO HOW COULD A WOMAN HAVE HIGH HCG BUT LOW PROGESTERONE? MANY WOMEN DO.
IM RACKING MY BRAINS TRYING TO REMEMBER SYMPTOMS IN MY PREVIOUS PREGNANCIES. I REMEMBER AT ONE POINT BEING UNABLE TO DRINK COFFEE ANYMORE, BUT I WAS PROBABLY FURTHER ALONG. I WOULD WELCOME SOME NAUSEA NOW, BUT IT IS TOO EARLY I THINK.
PS. I MUST APOLOGIZE FOR THE CAPS, BUT CANT SEEM TO FIX THIS KEYBOARD
I am crashing to congratulate you! I have thought of you many times since being on the TTC board together a long while back as we had a VR in September 09. (The VR was successful but we had a BFP.) I am so very, very happy for you! Woohoo!
And Sweet Bee! I haven't been at BSL much at all so I read but don't think I congratulated you yet either. I always thought you would get PG soon. I am not sure why but I did. January birthdays are great! Mine is the 13th.
Here's wishing a happy, healthy, low-stress, comfortable nine months to you both-- and your wee little ones.
Littlest Birds - Thanks for the congrats. I think of you all the time too! You are one of the ladies I always check for on the BSL board... still hoping to see a BFP from you!
ContactMaya - how are you doing? Praying that your baby stays sticky!
Sweetbee - I've been having little flashes of nausea/mild queasiness, mostly when I have an empty stomach... I used to be able to go really long periods of time without eating and I'd be fine... now I get shaky after just a few hours without food. At least I'm still eating good quality food and I haven't started craving any of the foods I gave up recently.
littlest birds, Hope you are doing well and will soon be pregnant.
sweetest, looks like you're almost 2 weeks behind me, so maybe the nausea is just getting started. Or won't happen, haha. I'm feeling more awful each day, but I'm actually kind of glad about it. Or reassured, at least.
What's not making me too happy is the digestive problems I've been having. It started before I even had a + HPT as mild constipation, but it's been getting more annoying. Feeling bloated and gassy (which is not normal for me at all). And since I don't think this happened last time, I can't even take it as a good sign. I just hope it doesn't continue for the remaining 7-8 months.
How is everyone else doing?
Hi All! Glad things went well with Sweetest's beta. And that sweetbee is enjoying her nausea ;)
Contactmaya: hcg, progesterone, estrogen, and the rest, it's all so complicated, and I suspect that a weird off-balance of some or all of it affects my fertility. It took us a year and a half to get pregnant, and with my last serious boyfriend (we were together for 5 years), we were really sloppy about birth control and I never once got pregnant. I'm sure there is plenty that western (and eastern, for that matter) medicine has no idea about, since all my tests came back normal to excellent (and dh is about as fertil as they come, according to his test).
All well here. Spent the weekend with my sister and her newborn. Wow, that is exhausting work - breastfeeding every two hours day and night... Don't worry, I'm not complaining, goodness no! I'm not sure I'll ever complain again, considering how much I want this little one and how long it took. I'm just remembering how it was now
Still feeling good. Larger appetite and needing 9 hours (instead of my usual 8) of sleep a night are the only two symptoms so far. A bit of hormonal snappiness/grumpiness (feels like pms), which is a funny mix in with the euphoria of ACTUALLY BEING PREEEEGGGGGGNAAAAAAANNNNNTTTTTTTTTTT!
THANKS FOR YOUR PRAYERS SWEETEST, I APPRECIATE IT SO MUCH.
IM FEELING OPTIMISTIC-NO MORE CRAMPING, OR SPOTTING! YAY! JUST BLOATEDNESS AND CONSTANT HUNGER. IM STILL TAKIGN 50MG OF PROGESTERONE (PROMOTRIUM) AT NIGHT, BUT NONE DURING THE DAY. IM CONFIDENT THAT MY SYMPSTOMS COME FROM MY OWN PROGESTERONE AND HCG, SINCE ON SUCH A LOW DOSE, IVE NEVER EXPERIENCED THESE SYMPTOMS BEFORE.
EMAYA, YOU STILL HAVE THE RIGHT TO COMPLAIN. AND YAY ON THE BEING PREGNANT!!!!!!!!!!!! HAVING HAD TWO BEFORE, IT FEELS FAMILIAR TO ME TO BE PREGNANT, I FEEL RIGHT AT HOME. I WAS AFRAID I WOULD NEVER BE PREGNANT AGAIN. BUT HERE I AM! I STILL CANT STOP LOOKING AT MY BFPS, AND GIGGLING... :-)
PRAYING THAT ALL OF US MAKE IT THE WHOLE NINE MONTHS....
sweetest and MommyMatsumoto, so cute that you two are due date buddies! Do I have a due date buddy in here (15th of January)? Emaya, maybe? Or were you a bit behind me? I don't remember exactly.
I think this baby will come early, though. Well, aren't second babies supposed to come sooner and faster? My son was almost 2 weeks early, though that was based on LMP and my normal O is a few days after CD14. Meaning he was probably at least 2 weeks early. Hmm, maybe I need to hang out in the December DDC.
Anyways, feeling really crappy now. I need to figure out some way to calm my stomach. Last time, I ate toast cheese sandwiches for like 2 weeks straight, but then I gained all this weight from eating constantly to keep my tummy settled.
Speaking of tummies, anyone have a bump yet?
MommyM - so nice to have a due date buddy! Do you have your first appt. scheduled yet? Yesterday, I made an appt. with my RE for my first ultrasound on June 16... I will be almost 8 weeks by then so we should definitely be able to see the heartbeat. Maybe I will believe I am pregnant once I see the heartbeat!
SweetB - I hope you figure out something to calm your stomach. Right now I'm fine as long as I have something in my stomach, it doesn't seem to matter what I eat but having an empty stomach makes me queasy! I've been drinking lots of coconut milk (maybe 1/2 cup) in my coffee in the morning and that seems to fill me up until I feel ready to eat something (I'm not a breakfast person).
I'm due January 18th, Sweetbee, so yes, I'm a bit behind you. DD came a week late, and I suppose this one will also go over, if all goes well (why do I always feel so obligated to make that qualifier? "If all goes well...").
So get this. I was driving down to a family weekend with my daughter and my niece in the back seat (2 and 4 years old, respectively). I said "won't it be nice that all the four cousins will be together this weekend?" (and I mentioned their names). And my niece said "But what about (dd's)'s little brother? Won't he get to be with us?" I just about drove off the road. I said that I didn't understand what she meant, and she patiently explained to me again that she thought dd's little brother should get to be with the rest of the cousins too. "Do you mean the baby in my belly?" I asked. "Yes" she said.
When I asked my sister if she had told her daughter about the pregnancy, she said that she had joyfully told her husband about me being pregnant, and that her dd must have overheard though she didn't think she had, so there's the answer, but still...
And when I told my dd a couple days ago that a little sibling might be on the way, she said in a very determined way "a little brother." I'm curious to find out the gender in the ultrasound (week 19), but I don't suppose we will (dh wants it to be a surprise for us, and I don't have strong opinions one way or another).
Are any of you going to find out the gender before-hand?
Hope you all are healthy and happy (if not feeling perfect...)!
To answer my own question, I'm not sure if I have a bump. I still have a little bit of a leftover skin flap from my last pregnancy (kind of reminds me of the tuft of skin my poor cat was still carrying around after I put him on a diet), so it's hard to say. My clothes are still fitting, though they were loose before. I have noticed that I look a bit rounder after eating.
So, I have a confession: I have been taking belly pics every week since week 4. I just want to see when the change happens. Sadly, I can't look at them right now to compare because they're on my husband's computer, and he's away on business until the weekend. I don't think there was anything to see yet, though.
Emaya, what a cute story! Are you getting "boy vibes"? We will absolutely be finding out the sex. I think it helps us (esp. my husband) connect to the baby. And I don't like calling our baby "it". Knowing will also help with naming. We'll need the time to come up with a name we both like that works in German and English.
