Any Alpharetta Mamas Out There?

Hey y'all!  I'm looking to beef up my Mama support.  I have lots of good friends, but not many with kids and want to branch out a bit.  I have a 4 year old son and a little girl due next month.  If you are in the Alpharetta area and know of any good mom groups, would you mind sharing?

Oooh! I'm all ears. We just moved to Canton from ITP, and I'm hoping to find a good moms group. I have a 2 1/2 yo DD. We are planning to attend the API meeting this week (in Dunwoody), maybe I'll find out about playgroups there. If not, we could always start our own! :)

I'm not really a part of any groups anymore, but I live in Alpharetta :)  We used to have a regular MDC friday meetup at parks around here but it fizzled out about 2 years ago.  I would love to get it going back up again.

thorn - Awesome that you're in Alpharetta.  I work out of the home during the day; so, I can't do any meetups during the week.  Maybe on the weekend some time?

I have to confess that we didn't go. Next month, definitely! Here's a link to the info. http://www.apiofnfga.org/

 

Looks like they do weekly walks and playdates in addition to the monthly meetings. I can't believe there isn't an AP-like meetup in the area.

We just moved to Cumming from Memphis, TN & my DH works in Alpharetta.   DS is 2.5 and we have a 3 month old.

 

I'd love to get to know some mamas in the area, let's definitely set something up!

we don't go to any groups either. we are in roswell on the west side of town. I would be intersested in a  regular playgroup to take my boys(4 and 18 months).

If anyone wants to do a playdate at roswell area park, it is convenient for us.orngbiggrin.gif we also wanted to try the api group but keep forgetting to go.

Hi All,

 

My family is moving to Alpharetta in 3 weeks.  I have a 8 year old, 6 year old, 2 year old and nearly 10 month old.  We don't know anyone in the area and I would love to hook up with other mom friends.  It might be hard to hook up with moms of little ones until after my older two are back in school though.  Please let me know of meetups.

 

Also, I would love recommendations on doctors for the kids.

Hey everyone!  I'm so glad there's some interest.  I just had my new little one a little less than 2 weeks ago; so, I'm laying low right now.  But, I would definitely love to meet up in a few weeks or so!

Welcome to Georgia!  I'm originally from Michigan too (grew up from childhood in the detroitarea but spent 2 years in lansing while my xh went to MSU) and also a doula :)  

 

We  see Dr. Bergman at The Pediatric Place as well.  We don't always see eye to eye on everything but he is very respectful of the decisions ultimately being up to me.  He's very laid back and answers his cell phone all the time if you have an issue after office hours.

I'm from Michigan, too. Grew up in Stanton/Lakeview area, went to college and lived in Mt. Pleasant for about 8 years before moving here. Small world.

Hey ladies! I live in Alpharetta too & am really interested in getting together with other moms - my 3 1/2 year old loves Webb Bridge Park and sometimes we head down to Roswell Area Park because it has lots of shade. It would be fun to get a little group together sometime soon!

 

We currently go to Dunwoody Pediatrics off Old Milton Pkwy, but I am searching for a pediatrician that is a little more flexible when it comes to the vaccine schedule.

 

I look forward to getting to know you mamas & your little ones!

We are looking to switch peds too. we go to a highly reccomended one in alpharetta right now, but we were a bit bullied about vaxes there the last couple of times. we selective vax slowly.

maybe in the morning sometime at roswell park would be good,  because it has been so very hot lately.

It seems hard to find a ped in Alpharetta that is supportive of delayed/selective vax. I'd love recommendations! 

 

I take my 3 1/2 year old to Roswell Area Park a lot these days because of the shade - and Web Bridge Park in Alpharetta has a cute little creek and waterfall around the sandbox. The kids just sit in there to cool off - its messy but perfect for 100 degree weather! 

 

What is everyone's schedule like? Should we try and get a group together this weekend? Maybe Saturday morning before it gets too hot?

Yes, that sounds perfect. 10am at Roswell Area Park on the gated side (the toddler section). All Alpharetta/Roswell/nearby moms invited!!!!
