Fun things to do with kids around Waterloo, Iowa?

We're going to Iowa this summer to bury my mother, which will not be very cheerful and fun, so I'd like to find some fun stuff to do with our kids (2, 4.5 and 7 y.o.) while we're there.  We'll be in Waverly, which is very small, but close to Waterloo.  We'll be driving from an airport somewhere (not sure yet) and we'll have a car to drive to anything reasonably close to the Waterloo area.  We're open to lots of things- children's museums, nature hikes, water parks, outdoor concerts or fairs, etc.

I am not in Waterloo, but I googled... http://attractions.uptake.com/iowa/waterloo/family/682184800.html and http://attractions.uptake.com/iowa/waterloo/160698861.html (both are the same site with slightly different list).  

http://www.waterloocvb.org/ This is their tourism site.  Maybe we will have to take a weekend trips sometime...
