I've been bugging dh about a chicken coop and he built one for me on Monday (he was going to do it on Sunday, but since I wanted to do some other, more fun, family things, he did it on Monday! And I am picking up 5 8-month old pullets and 10 chicks this coming Monday! He still has to do the nesting boxes and the roost, but the run is done and the coop is all done too! I can't wait for eggs!

What a great gift.
I made a makeshift coop the first time from a neighbor's old dog house. It worked okay but it was hard to clean the inside.. the roof was quite heavy. The second time, I finally broke down and bought a coop. Love it. Much better than I could do with my limited carpenter skills.

I've got the coopdeville one with nest box on the left end.
