:D Seriously! And I'd be interested to hear about the placenta too just to add some anecdata to my stash.

Bobbin, great that the chorophyll is working!

B1 - Strawberries and a banana in plain yogurt

B2 - Roast beef baguette on ww

L - 4 choco oreos, milk, leftover salad

S - Cheeseburger

D - Indian buffet and mango lassi

S - Boiled beets from fridge, rrl/nettle, Floradix

Ok, today has been an ok day food wise.  Supplement wise Ive been slacking...

B - banana; coffee; protein shake (~35 g); gatorade on my stroller walk

S - some of DD's chocolate pudding;

L - ENTIRE Boca burger and fries and freckled lemonade from Red Robin.  OMGGG.  I should be full for the rest of the day.

S - handful of dark chocolate nonpareils

D - going to grill.  Will have corn and potatoes, and maybe some sort of protein -- but I'm so full I can't even fathom eating ever again.  Sheepish.gif

BUMPING THIS!  OMG ladies, we fell to page 2!!

Anyone else having trouble?  I'm taking all my supplements but with being sick my diet has been mostly carbs and ice water, and protein shakes.  UGH.

My iron had dropped a little when we checked it a couple of weeks ago--not into anemic or concerning levels.  My MW recommended Blood Builder; I have been taking it.  I think that it is probably helping, but we haven't tested my levels again, since they were not really concerning, just getting lower.  I like the Blood Builder and haven't had any side affects smile.gif

I haven't had my hemoglobin checked, but I'm curious what it is. I'm taking alfalfa tabs, nettle capsules, liquid chloraphyll, and Mega Foods Blood Builder. I also bought Floradix Iron for postpartum, and possibly right before birth. Typing all that out makes me wonder if it's a little overkill. lol

Eta, oh, and I'm drinking red raspberry leaf tea every day too.

Oh my, tsk tsk on us. I'm doing ok, not eating as well as I did when we started this thread but not horrible either. And now that I am going to send off my thesis on Monday I will have nothing else to do but plan and cook meals until the baby comes orngbiggrin.gif so hopefully can go back to mostly eating at home. I hope your platelets didn't fall any more!!!

I get a finger prick for hemo on Thursday. How about CCL, Bobbin, and Lyn? How are you all doing? Had any more tests?

Earth-mama, what is Blood Builder?

LJ, I don't think it's overkill!

I have been doing OK, not great just OK. I get my final blood draw at my 35 week appointment (also my home visit) in just under 2 weeks.

I'm definitely in that "really can't be bothered to eat" stage that I also had last time for the last several weeks. However DH is really good at making sure I'm still keeping up with my protein and supplements. So now that I'm not eating as much I'm on daily protein milk shakes. I also had to switch my prenatals as I couldn't swallow the Rainbow Light ones, so I'm now on gummi prenatals that don't have any iron in them (???) but since my MW has me taking the Floradix 3 times a day now it doesn't seem like a big deal.

I won't even start trying to write out meal by meal, as I'm not eating meals much other than dinner. Now I'm just snacking on tiny amounts of whatever I can find that doesn't make the acid reflux worse. It seems any more than a couple of bites and I've got so much acid coming back on me it gets all the way up to my mouth. I'm just grateful it didn't start earlier, as I have a hiatus hernia, so it should have been a bigger problem than it is.

I'm soooo ready for this baby to get here and to be able to just eat normally/to hunger again.

I find out for sure how I'm doing on thursday. I have an appointment with the CNM and they will take blood and such (this is a routine checkup but required by my state I see someone more "qualified" than my midwife 2 times. This is the last one I have to have.)

I've not been keeping very good track of my protein counts but I'm getting at least the minimum amount. I'd like to do a bit better though. And I need need need to remember to take my chlorophyll twice a day! I keep forgetting on the weekends!

Was told at my appointment there's no reason I can't have a home birth. I am a "healthy low risk young lady"(according to the dr's note required for my midwives records). :) I am so thrilled I could jump for joy!

That's great Bobbin!! :)

I got my last finger prick yesterday, hemo had risen a bit more to 12.9. Despite this midwife being skeptical about me "only" taking about 30 mgs of iron per day eyesroll.gif never mind that my hemo rose quickly on that dose and I wasn't anemic anymore last time they poked me. Well, whatever, she had nothing to complain about when she saw the number. I'm really disliking this thing with a new midwife every other week. If I go past 40 weeks I get my old mw back but it's kind of a small consolation after rotating through all these strangers. Why did the summer vacations have to come at just the time they want me to go in every frickin' week...

I had low hemoglobin at 28 weeks pregnant; they gave me a prescription for iron supplements, and a list of iron-rich foods.  My favorites of the highest iron foods are ground beef, lentils, black beans, and kidney beans.

My recent dinner menus - spaghetti w/ ground beef & tomato sauce; chili with ground beef and kidney beans; beef stew with veggies & potatoes; black bean soup; baked lentils with cheese.  I used to be a vegetarian, but quit after I developed lactose intolerance, soy intolerance, and peanut intolerance in my early-mid 20s.  I buy grass-fed & pastured meats from the farmers market -- lots of beef this week.

According to the chart they gave me, to get the recommended 30 mg of iron / day for pregnant women = 15 oz of ground beef or 5 cups of lentils per day!  so supplements

Ugh, I can't believe the nonsense!  I'm happy you're seeing better numbers though!  Good work!!

I had my final blood draw today, so I should find out what my levels are sometime next week. I'm not expecting anything spectacular  I just hope it hasn't dropped down any further.

Thank you !!!!  I'm super thrilled !!  My hemoglobin was still on the low end of normal (12 point something) but within range.  I'm just keeping doing what I was doing and hoping it's enough!!  Remember now, everyone, that 3rd trimester blood increase should be tapering off and your levels will be regulating a bit better.  We need all the help we can get, so that's a good thing!!

That's awesome news! Congrats!

I got my hemoglobin checked today and it's 13!! I'm so happy! I've never known it to be more than 11.5, and I'm often anemic, so this is awesome for me!! My old mw who checked it for me said she almost never sees that high on a almost 36 week mama:) So yay!

My MW just called a few minutes ago and my hemoglobin dropped again (boo bawling.gif hoo) but only from 10.4 to 10.2. The only thing left for me to do now is cut of the dairy food. I've been living on cheese most of this pregnancy to keep up my protein levels, but it isn't helping my iron levels. So now I need to find non-dairy sources of protein to keep me going for the next four weeks.

LJ, that's awesome!

Lyn, I'm sorry it dropped, but I'm glad it wasn't a drastic drop! I hear you on the cheese. Good luck focusing on other protein sources!
