After my first son was born we planned to TTC when he was 6 months old, as our ideal age gap was 18-24 months between kiddos.. Of course I practice ecological breastfeeding (no supplementation, late intro of solids, on demand feedings) and so the months continued to go by without so much as a hint from AF. Finally shortly after his 1st birthday when he was already down to only three or four sessions a day I slowly started weaning him. Even with Vitex and night-weaning etc I didn't ovulate until he was fully weaned at 15 months. Like clockwork he nursed the last time and 10 days later I ovulated and got pregnant.
Now my second son is 11 months old and again, no sign of ovulation. I am depressed at the thought that once again I will have to wean earlier than planned to get pregnant a third time. I suppose I will plan to start the very slow weaning process after his 1st birthday (we drop a feeding every month or so) but I just really wish I didn't have to.
Does anyone have any tips or tricks to induce ovulation? It figures that the crazy lady who wants kids less than two years apart is the one who doesn't ovulate while breastfeeding
