think this yogurt's ok to eat?

I tried making some raw goat milk yogurt using a probiotic as the starter.  I put it in the yogurt maker for about 8 hours and it didn't seem like it worked, didn't smell yogurt-y or get thicker.  I put the jar in the fridge and the next day decided to stick it in the yogurt maker again and see what happened.  I didn't reheat it or add anything, just put the jar right from the fridge into the yogurt maker and left it there maybe another 10 hours.  This time it did get thicker like yogurt.  I'm not sure whether it's safe to eat or not though.  It smells fine...think it's ok?

If it smells/tastes fine, it is fine.  Though I wouldn't be surprised if it tastes less than ideal.
