Hormone levels test as part of wellness physical exam?

I have insurance with an annual cap of $2,500 for infertility diagnosis AND treatment. I'm not yet at the 12 month mark of trying, but I suspect it's possible I'm not ovulating. I'd like to have the initial tests done (whatever they may be) to see if my hormone levels are normal, but I'd like to have those tests done as part of an annual physical...because insurance covers annual wellness labs and visits 100%.

Are hormone levels a specific test that would only be reported when infertility is the reason, or are hormone levels reported in a normal annual workup? (I've never had a blood workup as far as I know, only annual PAPs.)

Has anyone had hormone levels checked at an annual physical?

Hi RosieL - When I mentioned to my ob/gyn that we were approaching one year with no luck, she ordered baseline bloodwork, thyroid panel and day 3 hormones. If your insurance works anything like mine, it is the code that the doctor submits to the insurance that determines whether or not it will be charged to your inferility annual cap, not what visit the bloodwork happened for. My ob/gyn also put in orders for my husband to have a semen analysis done at the same time. Maybe you could call your doctor and ask if they would order the tests and get the codes? Then you could call your insurance and ask how it would be handled?
