Movies that don't have a villian?

Hi there,

Looking for some movies for my 4 yr old ds that are NOT Disney. We love the Miyazaki movies! Simply looking for movies to entertain that do not have a mean villian, no dying parents, or frightening scenes. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

When my son was about 4 he LOVED the old 'Bananas in Pajamas' movies.  They are hard to find, think Ebay or maybe amazon.  They are more like short videos but he LOVED them.

How about Snoopy and Charlie Brown?  The Magic School Bus, Scholastic books dvd's (its the books on movie type thing), Curious George, Bernanstein Bears and Little Bear.

I dont like some of the verbage in Snoopy  so we dont watch them, but they are tame.

Magic School Bus, Scholastic DVD books, Little Bear are GREAT!!! We love them at our house.

DD2 (5) wont watch anything suspenseful....so we watch the above and:

TV (PBS) series with no tension:

Dinosaur Train DVDs

Big Big World Dvds

Zoombafoo (animal based series)

Ni Hao Ki Lan

Sid the Science Kid

Movies:

Babe (some talk of pigs purpose on the farm, but it turns out fine and no scary scene!)

Mary Poppins

Singing in the Rain

Follow that Bird (sesame street full length)

Sing A longs (my kids love them!)

We tend to do short PBS shows on DVDs from the library--- all non-violent/scary/no tension and all educational!

When my oldest was small she liked Rupert the bear,Gullah Gullah Island,the busy world of richard scary,and Franklin(he's a turtle).

Little Bear is another good choice.

DS loves Ponyo. Her dad could be seen as an antagonist, but not really because he's not trying to hurt anyone, he's just a dad trying to get his daughter back. Nobody dies and it's not scary at all unless your DC gets freaked out by storms/floods. He also loves Veggie Tales' Silly Songs with Larry. We're not Christian, so we don't watch the ones with stories, but the silly songs are awesome.

DD loves curious George, super why (not a movie but I love it too!), pokoyo is silly and funny, dinosaur train and veggie tales (religious). Tinkerbell is disney but doesn't have any of those things and is the only disney movies I let her watch...

We don't do Sid the Science kid b/c they do some out there things like push vaccines...

My ds is terrified of Ponyo!  The waves have eyes and the freaky david bowie dad is coming to get them!  hehe His bff LOVES ponyo though.  My Neighbor Tortoro we can get through, all though ds often needs to be coached through the scene where Mei wakes up on Tortoro's stomach.

Little Bear TV show is good. Little Bear movie has some scary stuff.
