Mamas with Type I diabetes

Hi there, it seems like the previous thread under this title is locked and no longer active, but I'm hoping the discussion can be revived! I had a negative and degrading experience with the "high risk" medical establishment during my otherwise very healthy and happy first pregnancy. Just found out I am expecting my second and would love a supportive community to connect with!

Hi, congratulations on your second, what an exciting time.

I was diagnosed type 1 about 8 months ago and am still getting to grips with how it's impacting my life.

I've not had to manage pregnancy and diabetes at the same time, though I was high risk for other reasons. There were definatly times when all the medical side of things felt overpowering and out of control as I felt perfectly fine, not even much morning sickness. Second time round I had a bit more chance to do my research first and felt a bit more in control. Hope that can be true for you too.
