...and old?
I lost about 50 lbs 5 years ago, but have gained it all back :-(
Â
Now I am ten months postpartum and really need to get back to a weight where I feel good.Â
Â
Thanks.

I assume 5 years ago they were using the point system and now they are using the point plus system.
Â
I lost 18 pounds on the point system last year then stopped counting points (I actually attained lifetime during a period when I wasn't counting points.) Then in January I went 5 pounds above my range. I kept going in each month to weigh and pay. Finally about a month ago I started following the new points plus program and I'm comfortably back in my weight range.
Â
I love it. The biggest difference for me is that fresh fruits and most veggies are 0 points. So, when I get hungry I eat a banana or an apple or whatever because I'm not using any points. In the past I would not have made a fruit choice. At best I would have had popcorn.Â
Â
They also calculate points differently. I think the old plan was calories, fat, and fiber. Now it's protein, fat, carbohydrates, and fiber. So foods come out with different points than they used to. You also get more points. Previously I got 21 points with 35 weekly points. Now I get 29 points with 49 weekly points (while losing weight. I think I'll 91 weekly points when I'm happy with my weight.)
Â
I am losing weight faster this time. That may because I don't eat so much of my kids' food as I used to. However, it sure seems easier this time because of the fruit being zero points. I don't feel so confined by my point limit. It used to be that I couldn't wait to lose the weight so I could stop counting points. Now I can easily see me continuing to count points as a good life skill.

Obviously I highly recommend trying the new program.
