wool cover losing shape?

Maybe I am washing it wrong?  I use Disana wool pull-on pants.  Hand washed at 30 degrees, the instructions on the wool shampoo say to let soak 10-15 min.  Then I lanolize letting them soak overnight (again in cool water).

However the instructions on the cover say not to soak at all.  I can't see how I would be able to lanolize the shorts without soaking them?  What do others do?  The stretchy parts around the waist and legs are not stretchy anymore... they look all stretched out...  thus the shorts don't fit well, they tend to slide down and the overnight diaper leaks...  I just ordered a new size but don't want to wash them till I figure out what I'm doing!  Any suggestions welcome!

I have the disana soakers (wool cover) and if it is poopy or its been a week or 2 I wash it in ecover delicate wash, use a toothbrush to scrub if needed in luke warm water for anywhere from 15 min to an hour - rinse it out then use eucalan wash again in lukewarm water making sure I squeeze it in the water (soak it) and leave it in the water for an hour or more (not usually overnight but don't see where that would be a big deal) then I press out the water lay on a large towel roll up the towel step on it to squeeze out more water and hang through a hanger to dry. The tops of my soakers are stretched out but the leg openings are snug and keep it all in there. HTH!

I use the CJ's wool wash, it lanolizes and washes in one step. I use lukewarm water as well.

Thanks ladies its good to be reassured I didn't do anything wrong.  Hoping42, the top is stretched out exactly as you described...but now I realize it is just too small because our size L arrived and it works great.  Who would have thought a size L would be great on a 4 month old!

I soaked the new one in lanolin too but made the water temp a bit cooler than previously... still waterproof.
