Hi!

Time to weigh-in!

I have no progress to report...

AF arrived yesterday and my sugar craving have lessen... I'm still really really tired... but I realize I'm always tired this time of year :

This week I want to drink water instead of the Coke I've bought... Babystep, babystep...

Michelle: Instructions for the use of the yam cream might differ if it 's used for a different problem... I don't know. I've heard of women using it for a long time during TTC and all their pregnancy to prevent MC but never talked about this with the naturopath.

I am soooo close to getting over my pre-pg weight hump, I just need to do some extra exercise and no sugar! I've tried to cut down my sugar consumption, but I didn't resist the Jelly Belly display the other day. And dh is working on our bedroom addition and tore out my kitchen door (previously the back door, now goes into our addition) and made a huge mess in the kitchen so I wasn't about to cook in there with sawdust swirling so we ate out and snacked all weekend.

My goals this week are no Coke and some extra exercise on the days I don't work out if the weather holds. It's a bit chilly today I think. My treats can be my iced tea sweetened with 1/2 stevia and 1/2 sugar and fruit leather. NO CANDY!

5'2"
Start weight: 154lbs
Last week: 147
This week: 148.5
Weight-loss this week: +1.5lb
Total weight-loss since Christmas: 5.5lbs

Mini-goal: 145lbs (I was 147 before I got pregnant with ds, so this will the smallest I've been in almost two years!)

Final goal: 125-135lbs

(all weights are with shoes & clothes)

Good luck Megan!

Valérie- thanks... I'll have to do some research. I think she's been using it 1/2 of her cycle... she is supposed to start it two weeks before she expects to start AF and use it until AF shows up, but she has trouble figuring that out since her cycles are so wacky and sometimes the spotting seems like a full-on period. :

Last week 139.5
this week 142.5
weight GAIN of 3 pounds!!! YIKES

I didn't do great with nutrition this week, but I did go to pilates class once and did weights once. I also spent Sat painting a bedroom and then Sunday I planted 8 bushes in the yard with dh. So although I wasn't doing my standard gym workout, I did bust my butt with exercise. Am feeling very good about that. Not so great about the scale.
I want to do the no sugar thing with ya'll, but I think I will wait to start until after Easter. I just don't think I can do it an handle that temptation.
Am also happy to report that I am looking into getting some good vitamins and am excited about that.

Congrats to all you losers!

I am still meandering in frustration after working out for three weeks solid and not losing SINGLE POUND!!! My clothes don't fit any differently either.

Got the worst AF in recent memory last night and I just can't get myself to the gym this morning - back tomorrow though.

I am going to start taking amino acid things before iIwork out - someone told me that will help.

Please god - just one pound off this spare tire next Monday!!!

Keep the faith!~

Okay! I'm starting my journey!

Today's weight - (Can't believe I'm publicly admitting this)
282

Mini Goal - 260
Long Term - 180
Goal for the week - Get the rest of the junk food out of the house. I'll make DH eat it!

The good news is that the last time I weighed myself. (At my post-partum visit, about two months ago) I weighed about 7 lbs. more. So I have progress already!

This probably is not the best week to start a weight loss plan as today is Passover and Sunday is Easter. (We celebrate both.) Lucky me I found out that dessert tonight is cheescake. And I *hate* cheesecake! Now, if I can just steer clear of the latkes...
No change here, but that's a good thing because I'm about to get my . and I always gain a few pounds then. Plus I ate terrible this week. Oh well, there's always next week.

Well, here i sit. i went to the chiro and weighed myself for the first time in quite a while. I got over the "cheating" and checking my weight when I didn't really want to.

Starting weight 1 week pp: 212
February 28th: 185 (I think or 183)
April 5th: 175!!!!!

Weight loss: 10 pounds

Mini-goal 1: 170 by April's end
Mini-goal 2: 155 by June's end (I have to push myself for this one)
Ultimate goal: 130ish by January 31, 2005

There we go! I'm on my way!!!

Congrats to all the losers! And to my fellow gainers.

I am going to do better today... I realized that swimsuit season is coming and I don't think my bathing suit will even come over my hips. I'd love to buy a nice nursing swimsuit but don't think I can part with the $$$. SO... I need to make my tankini from two years ago fit! <insert squeezing into clothing smilie>

The plateau is finally over!!!

lowest pp weight - 195 lbs
started here - 185 lbs
last month - 175 lbs
today - 172 lbs
goal - 145 - 155 lbs (whatever is healthy for me)
loss this week - 3 lbs

BTW, the lowest weight I've been since my second child (I have four) three 1/2 years ago was 169 lbs. After my first child I briefly weighed 154 lbs after a yeast cleanse. I'm aiming for thereabouts (Yes, I'm Canadian!).

OT - I heard on a health talk show that certain chemicals can imitate estrogen and cause hormones to be out of whack (ingesting, absorbing, and inhaling them). If those of you with hormonal or MC problems have not de-toxified your home, it might help.

They are called xenoestrogens. I just read about them last night! I was also reading that chemicals and such from the environment are stored in fatty tissues....ie: my and that detox as well as weight loss can cause them to relocate (in other fatty tissues like the brain ) and/or breakdown.

Crazy stuff, If I wasn't bfing I'd detox!

Scary, isn't it? I feel guilty in a way for not detoxing before we ttc ds. And I think I should before we have another baby, but I won't force ds to wean before he is ready and I don't want a huge age gap in the kids for a variety of reasons, not to mention dh will be 42 this summer.

Once I'm done having babies and nursing, I'll be doing some major detox.

New to you all

Hi everyone!
Can I join you? I'm not quite sure how this works. Do you have a set plan to lose weight or just basic diet/exercise?

I'd like to lose 13lbs by my brother's wedding August 28, 2004.
My current weight 137.5
Goal weight 124
That would take me back to my pre-pregnancy weight and I could fit in my jeans again!
I just started back to the gym today. I also started to eat a bit less yesterday and increase the water.
I'm so glad I found you all. I need the help!

Well, I didn't lose anything this week. I'm not surprised. I didn't do any exercise! But I only had one soda all week and it was from the health food store.

I've been talking to my dh about ways to help me get my exercise in. Going on the treadmill is hard unless dh watches ds because he will try to touch the belt while it's going and try to climb on etc. I'm talking to him about getting a big gate to fence the treadmill in so I can just go on it even when dh isn't there. I'm really wanting to get out of the house though so also talking about going to the rec center a few times a week while dh watches ds.

Dh taped a yoga program from the tv so I'm going to do that now =).

Start: 223
Current: 226
Goal for May: 215

I'm not going to weigh again until the beginning of May..I think montly weigh ins will be much better for my confidence.

Chrissy:

all of us are just doing what works for us, some Atkins, some Weight Watchers, some just natural eating, some are exercising, some are not.... Whatever works for you. This is just a place of accountability and encouragement, whatever our goals are. To get them in writing though is good because you actually have something solid and tangible to aspire to.

Megan: I posted this message in the Dr. Phil Weight Loss Solution thread about how to boost your metabolism when you've hit a plateau. Anyone read it yet?

Is this daylight savings thing killing anyone but me? Hate the even earlier early mornings - plus worked 14 hours today in the O.R. so am dead on my feet. But here at MDC!

My weight's a little off due to buying a new scale. The old one consistently stopped at 80 lbs (beyond unrealistic to unhealthy!) and then required jumping up and down to make it move to more logical numbers. I've been "good" and "bad" this week - too much easter candy!!! I have a weakness for Cadbury!

My goals: Drink more water, more proteins & fruits/veggies, less refined starch & sugar. And move more - aerobic exercise, walking, tai chi, whatever. Thinking of joining Curves.

My stats:

Height: 5'5"
All-time high (1/03): 215
Began at MDC (3/04 ) : 195
Last week: 192
Today: 191.8 :
Mini-goal: 185
Goal by Labor Day (my 25th b-day): 142 - gotta get moving!!!

I'm here, didn't check in last week due to computer issues and blah-de-blah...

I'm too tired to be coherent today (stayed up too late watching a movie) so I'll just give the stats:

Started 11/10: 165 lbs.
Last check in: 139
This week: 137
Loss: 2 lbs
Mini-goal: 135
Final goal: 135-ish

There was something else I meant to write about but I've misplaced my brain, oh well!
