Dairy/soy/sugar free

Thread Starter

I am looking for a recipe for frosting that is dairy-free, soy-free, and sugar-free but that does not contain any natural sugars either... my little one is allergic to all cow's milk products, all soy and soy derived products, and all sugars and artifical sweeteners (including natural sweeteners like fructose, honey, agave, etc...)... Any thoughts out there?

I would think that you could make something frosting-like by whipping a really ripe banana with margarine or coconut butter and a touch of almond/hemp/coconut milk if needed (and maybe stevia if you can do that).

Dairy free chocolate mixed with coconut cream for a ganache, perhaps?

What are you using to sweeten whatever you are putting it on?

You can make a whipped cream-type topping out of coconut cream - take full fat coconut milk and chill it in the can, then open and scoop out the solids. Chill that and the bowls and beaters and whip until it reaches your desired consistency. I usually sweeten with about 2 TBS of maple syrup to each can of milk, and add vanilla to it, but you could try whatever you are sweetening the cake with.
