hidden penis?

my three year old son has hidden penis...he has had it since he was about three months old when he started gaining weight. a few docs have told me that it will come out as he starts losing weight...my husband and i are worried that he wont lose weight and it will stay like that we took him to a doc at childrens and he suggested surgery but he didnt explain anything about it so i looked it up onlne and the pics i found were very upsetting and pain ful so i dont want to put him through something painful if it wont help. im not sure what to do at this point. anyone someone please give some opinons and advice please.

I wouldn't worry about the hidden penis. However, if your son is circumcised I highly recommend you regularly expose the hidden penis and pull back the foreskin to prevent adhesions. Adhesions are very common in circ'd babies with hidden penises. If your son is not circ'd then just exposing the hidden penis to clean around it while leaving the foreskin alone should be sufficient.
