I've had sensitvity  to sulfites for years, but did not realize just how much it was really impacting me until DS started showing symptoms as well (we both have primarily GI symptoms though I also get pretty bad headaches as well).  I've also noticed that he has reactions to foods with sesame in them (GI symptoms and redness/rashes around the mouth).
Â
He's currently two and I watch what he eats really closely. Â I'm concerned though that as he gets older it's going to be really difficult to teach him which foods to avoid since sulfites in particular are in so many foods across so many categories (and in many things that are favorites of his). Â Any suggestions on how to handle this?
Â
Also, since we are big dried fruit fans, does anyone have any suggestions of good places to get affordable unsulfered dried fruit?
Â
TIA
