Highly Sensitive mum and daughter from England

Thread Starter

Hello

I am looking for advice on bringing up my highly sensitive daughter re: friendships, not being left out, that sort of thing.

The 'cool girls' in her class are starting to reject her, and they are still only 5 years old. I think they are jealous cos she is very small, pretty and popular with the older kids. Its amazing how young it all starts!

So I've found out who she plays with at school (3 boys and another girl) and asked their mummies if they would like to play in the holidays with my daughter. Is that a good idea? I want to help my daughter with her friendships as I don't feel I got much help with that when I was young.

Thanks

Hi, welcome to the Mothering boards.  You might want to try posting this situation in The Childhood Years forum so you will get more responses.  I think asking her friends at school for playdates is a good idea, however.
