HELP 4 yr old with possible walking pneumonia NEVER EVER had Antibiotics given

This a.m. my daughter saw her physician and he says she either has walking pneumonia or a mucus plug and if it is indeed walking pneumonia that the chest xrays reveal he will want to put her on zithromax for 5 days is what he told me ):  She has never needed antibiotics before we always in the past if she was sick did a natural approach and have always been able to get her on the road of recovery.  What what be realistic to see if this is maybe viral.  He mentioned a spectrum test if we could get mucus but again she is four and he said according to chest x rays both lungs reveal red and indicate pneumonia. Dr said this morning most are viral and in order to keep it from turning bacterial we may need to treat with Azithromycin if x rays reveal pneumonia.  I don't know why we would treat it as if it was bacterial when he said most are viral????  He called and changed it on me though whenever he saw xrays did in fact reveal pneumonia.  Now he says we treat it as if it is bacterial and most are bacterial  errrr.  Help what to do in this case what would be realistic and a more natural approach.  We are doing batherapy that helps ease general discomforts of a cold ~~Echinacea + Tea Tree bath liquid this revitalizes her to her smiling self (:  Her cough is most worrisome and it turning into something more dangerous if I in fact chose to not give the anitiboiotic.  HELP me out with this please!

I really wish I could help, but I can't give such medical advice for kids who are possible sick with something serious like this.  It just wouldn't be appropriate. I can't tell you what to do here.  But as some general info, antibiotics for pneumonia would be important for kids with fever, labored breathing, vomiting, or who are actual fairly ill.  Mild pneumonia without such symptoms can resolve without antibiotics, but there's some risk in that. You should stay in touch with your doctor on this and I'd recommend you follow his or her advice.
