Real WAH jobs

I got laid off in early April, and no one wants to hire me because I am now 26 weeks pregnant. I've had a number of interviews, but nothing.  My husband has been out of work for even longer.  It seems like he may be able to find something.  We have a friend helping.

I am considering working at home. Both so someone could be with the baby, and so they might care less about my being pregnant.  I just know that many WAH jobs are scams.

I have varied experiences, and I am sure there is something, but I don't know how to go about finding something real.

I can use Microsoft Office, quick books, and I have done dental billing and coding, customer service, reception, etc...

There seem to be a lot of WAHM here, and I am looking for any advice you might have.

You could set yourself up as a consultant (paid pretax) and handle billing and coding for dentists.  They would like it because they don't have to pay you benefits.  You might have to set yourself up as an LLC to make the taxes and getting paid easier.  I did this through the local community college--mine has an SBA (small business administration) office that was very helpful.  I do sales and marketing consulting, and it's been really good for the past four years.  Very flexible, and working from home is great.

I'll certainly look into that. Thanks!

How much money can you make at that, (i.e. how much would you charge)?

Sounds like a great idea!!
