bbt lower post-o than pre-o?

Hi,

I have bee wondering back and forth what my chart this month means, if anything I tested + opk on cd 19

My temps in degrees C (degrees F):

cd 16 - 36,5 (97,7)

cd 17 - 36,5 (97,7)

cd 18 - 36,3 (97,34)

cd 19 - 36,8 (98,24)

cd 20 - 36,8 (98,24)

cd 21 - 36,7 (98,06)

cd 22 - 36,9 (98,42)

cd 23 - 36,5 (97,7)

cd 24 - 36,6 (97,88)

cd 25 - 36,6 (97,88)

cd 26 - 36,6 (97,88)

I´m thinking I ovulated either on cd 18 or cd 23. On cd 18 I still got a - opk though and if it occured on cd 23, then my temp is still lower than it was pre-o...

Last cycle I had a VERY clear ovulation day when the temps first went down lower than ever and then skyrocketed.

Please help, I´m going crazy trying to analyze this by myself

Thanks and the best of wishes to all of you

Go to www.fertilityfriend.com and enter your data into a free account.  You can use the "mass data entry" function to enter multiple days at once if that's easier.  This will help you and us to see the pattern better (you can share your chart here).  Plus, it will give you its best guess of O day.  Enter your last cycle as well as the more data FF has, the better it gets at predicting your O day.

I'm not sure how much you know about charting and OPK's so please forgive me if this is info you already know...

OPK's are not a straight positive/negative sort of thing.  They get progressively darker as you approach the hormone surge that causes ovulation and then they'll get lighter and lighter.  You will generally ovulate within 24-36 hours after the darkest OPK.  So if you only tested a couple of times here and there you won't get a good picture of the build-up and could have missed you darkest line.

I don't see mention of cervical fluid or cervical position.  These things can really help along with the OPK's to see the build up toward O and generally women go dry  (and low, firm, and closed) the day after ovulation, another helpful indicator that you caught the right O day.

As for your temps, they are a bit confusing, going down on CD 23, but they did not spike again, so I would say CD 23 was not at all likely your O day.  It is quite likely that you did O on CD 18 as that is a very clear spike.  Your coverline would be 97.8, so really you only have one temp (CD 23) that dips below the coverline.  This can happen- just an errant temp.   I would say you're 8 DPO, which means you'll be able to test very soon!  dust.gif  Here's some baby dust!

Thank you for your thoughts Jaimee!

I used an OPK that said to stop testing when the + comes up, so that´s what I´ve been doing... Maybe I should look into trying another kind of opk.

I´ve also been putting my temps into FF to see the graph and to get some predictions of O.

Today my temps went up to 37,0 (98,6), so maybe I´m alright :)

If you post your chart, I'm sure you'll get more people to post their opinions.  winky.gif

Ah yes, there are two kinds of OPK's... the kind that gradually get darker and darker and the kind that just pop up a + or a smiley face.  The latter type seems like it would be easier to use, but I'm wondering if they are less helpful b/c there is no evidence of a build up.  If you're not pg this cycle, it couldn't hurt to experiment with the other kind next cycle.

FF is not sure of your O date and now I can totally see why.  You reported EW on CD 25 and you have a nice spike on CD 26, plus that +OPK on CD 23...?  With this info and seeing how erratic your other pre-O temps were, I am wondering if you O'd on CD 18 or not...it could be that you just O'd!  Only time will tell, but unfortunately your 2ww may have just begun.  Did you DTD these last couple days?  Did something of interest happen on CD 12 and/or 13?  I'll be interested to see what others have to say.

If you feel that you did O on CD 18 then you can manual set your crosshairs.  Under your chart you'll see a Ovulation Detector and under that box you'll see a "tuning/override" button.  Click that and add your O day as CD 18 and your coverline as 97.8 to help see your pattern more clearly.

All of what you are mentioning is what has made me confused huh.gif

I hope I O´d at cd18, because around that day it was all BD winky.gif Last time we DTD was on cd23, so I guess it´s time for it again tonight just in case...

I have no idea what that spike on cd13 was. My husband asks me every morning what my temp is and he said "wow, that´s a fever" when I told him the temp that day.

Haha, I just tried the override button on FF after reading your thoughts on my O day being cd18, but since I´m not sure I didn´t want to keep it there. Also, the EWCM I put down I´m not quite sure about either. I haven´t tracked my CM before.

Still confused... I just hope this isn´t the beginning of my 2ww. I´m impatient smile.gif

Ugh, I know the feeling!

As for CF, EW is stretchy, often profuse, clearish or streaked.  It can be confused with post-BD fluids, so it's helpful to do some kegels a couple hours after DTD to get rid of any extra.
