Cd'ing a Toddler

DD is almost 18 months and is 33inches tall and a bit over 30lbs. We're starting to notice that her Bum Genius', Fuzzibuns, Knickernappies and other pocket diapers are not fitting as well as they were before she hit 30lbs. What's next? We are thinking about starting to introduce the toilet but that's still in the planning stages. What are your thoughts. We never really got the hang of prefolds and the covers we have won't fit either at this point. She goes through about 5 to 8 diapers during day time. She's a heavy wetter at night so we've kept her in disposables (size 4, which are almost too small too). Thoughts? We don't want to spend a small fortune on a ton of new diapers but a few would be worth it.

I tried to edit it the post but it wouldn't work. All the CDs we have are "one size."

Bugga Bugga Boutique makes bigger kid diapers, not sure how much they cost. She is on Hyena Cart.

Do you think that using a pf without a cover during the day would work. You could use a Snappi to keep it in place. The Toddler size pfs would still fit and they are pretty inexpensive for a dozen. T-shirt diapers work too. Wool covers fit pretty big too.

The FB OS are getting small? These are the ones with the elastic in the leg right?

most sized diapers go up to larger sizes, and a large or xl should fit. fuzzi bunz large, for example, says it fits 25-45 lbs

I just got some online at littlebeecreations.com    I have only had them for 3 days and I really like them. My daughter is 2 and we got the xtra large size,AIO and there is still plenty of growing room. I have a bit of a thing for cloth diapers, lol and as she is 2 I have to stop myself ordering more!  They cost, I think $25 for three, free shipping.  Hope this helps.

When dd started to be almost ready for the potty and getting a little bit big for her OS diapers, we started just trifolding an infant prefold into a snug-fitting cover (Bummis makes an XL, but for trifolding, you want it snug, so if in doubt, size down).  This way it was CHEAP - already had the infant prefolds, only needed 4 covers (2 per day) and it felt wet and heavy for her when she peed.  She potty-trained within a month.

PP's suggestions are good.  If you're close to potty learning, superundies are a pocket trainer that you could surely use as a diaper here and there until you start using cloth trainers all the time.  That and finding a few better fitting covers to use with trifolded prefolds would probably be all you need.

Bumwear one-size pockets that we had continued to fit our dd well through potty-learning, so we ended up using those as trainers too.  So that's another option that you could look at.
