When did your Toddler start to Jump?

I'm looking for data points. My DS1 is 28 months old. He started 'jumping' at 20 months or so... but this isn't two feet off the ground jumping. He crouches down, bounces up and lifts one foot off the floor and kind of hops. It's cute, but not actual jumping. I haven't corrected and don't plan to at this point. It seems to me that in his head he is truly jumping, having a blast and I don't want to take that from him! I'm just wondering when your LO's started 2 feet off the ground jumping, and at what point should I start to be concerned.

Thanks :)

DS1 was about 18 months, and I see no sign of stopping....sigh.

DS2 still really hasnt figured it out.  But then again, DS1 LOVED his jungle jumper, and DS2 couldnt have cared less about it.  So in essance, DS1 had lots more practise at "fake" jumping then DS2 did.  Does that make sense?

DS2 is so above and beyond on every other milestone, Im not worried about it.

Most of DS's little friends have been able to do 2-foot jumps since under 2, but DS is 27mos and only does the funny little one-foot jump your DS does -- super cute! We just had him evaluated by EI (for other reasons) and they said his 'jumping skills' were well within the range of normal.

Some mom friends and I were just talking about this on the beach today.  My 27 month old doesn't jump.  My friend's 23 month old doesn't jump.  But my other friend's 21 month old does jump.  I don't know what's normal, but my 27 month old seems to do fine for strength and motor skills in general, so I'm not really worried.

My son is 30 months and jumps. But he did start off "jumping" by the way you described. He figured it out on his own without our instruction. (I can't remember when he figured it out though). I wouldn't worry about it if I were you.

My guy was jumping before he was walking. We bought him a jumper because my arms couldnt support his heft for as long as he wanted to jump (he would literally jump 20 minutes straight before taking a break).

He's 19 mos now and does 2 feet off the floor all the time. I really think it has a lot to do w personality.

DD didn't jump 2 feet off the ground at 2years.  I remember because it was one of the questions at her 2yo checkup.  I asked our pediatrician and she said that's such a minor thing and I shouldn't worry about it at all.  Then a few weeks later she did it, so probably like 25 or 26 months.  If kids are active and healthy otherwise, I wouldn't worry about it.

DD jumped with both feet up at probably....16 months?  But then, she was walking and running at 8.5 months - maybe that makes a difference?  DD was also a major bouncer - she always wanted to be held upright so she could "jump" and flex her legs up and down from a very young age - I suspect it's just a matter of a)muscles being ready and b) interest!

My DD was between 14-15mo when she started jumping with 2 feet.  She did start walking really early (9.5mo) and she's spent a lot of time on a trampoline.  I really think the trampoline encouraged her to jump with both feet.

My almost 20 month old DS doesn't jump at all.  He likes to squat down and then pop up and shout "JUMP!" but he doesn't go anywhere.  He has a bunch of toddler friends who are 2-2.5 and I feel like they all jumped by this age... but his pediatrician says there's a pretty wide range of development when it comes to jumping.  He's perfectly agile otherwise, and VERY active, so I dunno-- I think it just takes some kids longer to get it.
